Right this could have gone a lot worse than it did, some people did see it as a "right" to flame but although it wasn't servere enough to warrant a banning it did happen so since this is the result of a PUBLIC vote zero tolerance will be implimented on the future GOTM entries/polls for the actual markers concerend so when this come up as a Competition play extremely nice guys you have been warned.
I did say in the GOTM Questions thread this wasn't a perfect solution but it was a sfair a way as possible to decide the outcome.
First off the following votes are voided due to accounts created to vote and users having not being registered long enough to even know what GOTM is/was/represented.

The winner of the poll is Chronobreak. Now mention was made of "Official" well I don't have the right to call anything "Official" only Tom has that right but "Tolerated" is probably a better and more accurate term but GOTM will suffice for here on in.

A few things that need to be included regardless of whichever thread is decided on being the "Official" thread. (Now read "Tolerated" thread)
It needs to have the pictures remotely hosted by way of a link in a smaller version that is shown online (for online read AO)...we all did this with hyperlinks embedded in our signatures so it isn't difficult. (the coding to do this should be included in the first post for each month) Scrolling across the screen to see a particular marker is not fun
Clear catagorys for which section the marker can be entered in
Strict enforcement of the number of markers that can be entered/ownership etc
As suggested by myself and by concenus at the time agreed upon the panel of judges are only brought into play when the entrys are decided upon.
This decision is reached by the "Tolerated" thread owner posting the markers in each catagory for the public vote with the top 5 being the ones that go forward to the Judging Panel. This thread is to be deleted once the poll has finished.
The competition is to run for 2 weeks.

Gives 1 week approx for the winners to claim/boast about their prize.

Personally quality of pic is a little unfair since some people do not have access to good cameras so be a little lenient on this part.
No poll rigging, this was one of the previous accusations, so given the value of an anno job temptation may get the better of some people. Poll rigging stands out as very obvious so don't go there.
Clear information is the key to this working as all who took part in the poll (ownership poll) would agree I'm sure.

The last one died a death because of most of the above NOT being followed you as users now have a chance to show you actually care about the concept of GOTM. Do it wrong and it's gone, I think that is clear enough.
