    New to the Automag fold...

    I snagged an Automag of Ebay a few weeks ago and have it setup just like I want it...old-school flavor all the way! This baby will be running off CO2 with anti-siphon/expansion chamber. I haven't used it in a game yet, but the trees in my yard have suffered much pain!

    Here are the specs...

    * HL/PF stainless body
    * SP Progressive barrel
    * Benchmark expansion chamber
    * Taso sight rail
    * Armson Pro-Dot
    * Level 7 bolt
    * AGD rubber grips

    Nothing spectacular but it is setup like I want it and it feels great to point and shoot. I might give it a try this weekend.

        Get level 10 and it will be perfect.

        It's good that you like it, looks like a great gun to me!

          Well, the 'gun is just like new: no wear on the sear or bolt and the exterior is nearly perfect. I bought it with the SP barrel, sight rail, vert asa, parts kit, a couple of CO2 tanks and a mask (both the tanks and mask were sold off with my M98 to a young guy getting started), and a few other odds and ends (200 rd hopper, barrel plugs, oil). The above was $215 shipped. Not a steal, but not bad considering the condition of the 'Mag and the extras included (barrel especially). Vert asa and parts kit would have set me back another $25 on top of that.

          I have no plans on going to Lvl 10. I will be using CO2 exclusively and the extra pressure required to run it isn't a path I want to go down. Besides, my playing style doesn't really necessitate it. My ROF will be 3-4 bps tops.

          Thanks for the compliments. I have wanted a 'Mag for a while and I am glad I have her in my collection.

              Well, I'm not sure what you mean by extra pressure but whatever floats

              Yeah, you usually have to crank up the velocity a little to get it running because of the longer bolt springs but you dont lose many shots per tank and you can still use co2 with it. Also level 10 isnt just reduced chopping, it has a lot less kick than a level 7 because the bolt is much lighter, and it helps against barrel breaks and blowback.

              But there's nothing wrong with good ol' level 7

                I thought I had read that the minimum input pressure was approx. an additional 100 psi for Level 10 to work properly. Did I dream that? I am mainly concerned about the times I play in the 50's and CO2 tank pressure starts to drop. Those are the times that extra bit of pressure would be a good thing. I am a CO2 guy all the way and we have to worry about things like that!

                Although I use a Sniper mostly, I didn't find the kick on the 'Mag to be bad at all. In fact, after years of Tippmann semi use, it feels great!

                  I've never heard of anything like that before. Level 10 doesnt take more input pressure from your tank, except maybe like I said you will have to turn up your velocity but that doesnt take any additional pressure from your tank.
                  Yeah, mags compared to a tippmann are pretty good kick wise, but level 10 barely has any. Its pretty neat.

                    There is definately a difference between shooting a Tippmann and an Automag. I like my Dad's 98 Flatline, but Automags just feel better to me. There is no comparison in quality either.

                    I use CO2 with a level 10 with no problems, and have not had problems even around 50*. It does take a little more pressure to shoot the level 10, and the trigger is a tad stiffer, but it's not bad. If you aren't chopping any at all, you should be able to do without it. Some people never chop on the level 7. Nice marker, nice price, btw .
