Critical Paintball, and their ripping off of the industry

Critical paintball, you all know em, and their products. First off they started off by ripping off the techna trigger, and selling them for cheeper out of aluminum. no one realy seamed to mind, well except for techna enthusiasts.

Then critical ripped off the 05 alias frames, (note bobs new frame did come out after the critical, but critical coppied the 04 style, etc) this ticked off alot of people from what i understand, including bob and his employees. (hence why bobs frame was just released, no leaking of it what so ever)

But now, they have gone beyond rediculous. JKW, the maker of the techna trigger, came up with an ingenious trigger pin idea for the technatrigger that he manufactured for the dm4. well guess who stole that idea as well?. Critical. Does any one else see a problem with this? Stealing some one elses ideas, not once but twice? and not even giving credit where its due?

i think this is slightly sickening! and id like to hear your views too

Doesn't sounds that great though, I wasn't sure how JKW did the DM4 trigger, I was curious though.

I don't plan to buy any critical products... they're trying to sell their delrin drive-cones for $35.00 when zenitram sells their's for 20.

There hasn't been but a handfull of original ideas in the sport for the last 5-10 years.

Now you all know why Patent issues are such a big deal...Oh Crap Wait.....YOU GUYS HATE PEOPLE WITH PATENTS.

Thats typical business regardless.Who ever can make it cheaper and faster often get's the prize.But it is the Consumer that has the final say on what they buy and who they support so if you don't like it, buy from someone else.

You see it... look at teh DevilMag.. someone finally went out and figured out how to make a mag that people where whining for (me included) and give them 90% of the features that they needed to have to buy a mag again.

Now you have people looking for who does it cheaper, and asking when there will be competition to bring the price down.

Any BTW, what did he do (no disrespect intended) but....

Put someone elses board in someone elses frame and bolt it on someone elses markers.

Oh yeah, and add some one elses idea for a beam system to function as an ACE.

But now it's a 'DeveilMag'

And like i said, I intended no disrespect I'm just making the point that most people are just plain old biased about who they like and what they consider an 'original' idea.

Good point.. though I would have called it a colloberation of parts and ideas not seen before in a mag (afterall he is still buying the boards and eyes and not manufacturing them himself) compared to a direct copy of a single part. However, your point is reasonable, even if I do disagree with it.

It was done before, he just offered the drilling for eyes and a new board.

well said saddly patients are a nessary eivl in the 2k5 era of this sport which is sad because they suck!! they take way too much time and slow down new product from getting out but with out them some one else can rip your plans and make some quick dough if they can get it out first. good luck in your developmetns RR as for the devil you have to give the man credit for listing everything he uses so their mkes get recongnetion, and they are hot guns

you know people whine about patents and how they suck and how they slow down the product from comeing out ect...well all i have to say about that is welcome to the real world. you have an idea you need to protect it becuase if you dont and its anygood it'll get ripped off sooner or later

I agree,and I DO NOT want this to turn into a Devil thread. I was just using that as an example of perception by many people. If you like the company and product you over look certain things and focus on others that's all.

PTP for example and just to be fair....

Wasn't the inventor of the collapsable stock or the M16 handguards but we were one of the first to adapt those as Scenerio Product to paintball.Much of the parts of those products are off the shelf components and we build the parts needed to adapt them over.we do however, make alot of products exclusive to us as well.

Now...that area of paintball is THE fastest growing segment and the most copied and 'borrowed' from. Of Course we feel ripped off when someone like BT (NPS really) goes to china and makes cheap 5 cent knock offs of our true Mil Spec product but there's not much that can be done other than continuing to offer the best product we can and hope that eventually people see that there's a huge diference in quality and are willing to pay for it.We also offer,I believe,one of the best warranty backing....lifetime w/ pretty much no questions asked regardless of purchaser.

If that doesn't work, you have to go to something else till you get ripped there too.

hey, hey, hey, quiet down before i start throwing rocks at you.
i see where you are coming from, but ao definatly wants something preassembled and ready to roll. No one offered that so Chris stepped up and put everything together. Both you and I know how much work is involved in that.......but alot of people think it is very simlpe to slap a few peices together and call it a gun.

back on topic.
i think the guns will eventually get faster, but not much faster. a new loader design has to be made right now, mainly because people are not willing to use a qloader. gun designs can now achieve over 30 bps if needed (i know not legally), so the loader is holding them back. it sucks to be ripped off by a company, it has happened to me. you have to learn a lesson and mvoe on basically, because you will spend more money dragging it through courts than just losing money against a competitor.
