Need Help!!

Some one gave me some plans to build an air cannon, but i don't understand what he means when he says "valve-1inch ball valve" here is the list of things he told me to use. If you want me to give you the instructions on how to put it together I can do that to.

Materials:
Barrel - 1 inch width 4.8 ft long PVC pipe (your choice of length)
Chamber - 2 inch width 4 feet long PVC pipe (your choice of length, same length as barrel)

Its just a plumbing valve. Its a little ball inside with two flat sides that spins and lets the air or liquid through..go to Home Depot or Lowes...they are cheap.

wait dude do you think it has to be a 4 foot barrel and a 4 foot chamber(do u think it could be shorter due to money and it being huge) like maybe 1-2 feet.

we had a guy that made one at my local field. the thing blew up and PVC went everywhere. And since I got hit in the head, I had to bonus him 4 times for bringing a untested cannon to the field.
