Just had two quick questions about Vikings. Feel free to laugh if the answers are obvious enough that I shouldnt be asking them. But remember, with laughter must also come answers.

Do the type of eyes make a difference? If so what are some of the best.

Is there a large sistinction between the WAS and Pandora boards? If so what are some of the differences and which is considered to be "better?"

Thanks for any help, and dont wory about getting too technical... I'm just looking for some quick, simple answers. Simplicity is bliss.

All of the eyes are functionally the same.

As for WAS and Pandora, its really personal preference. Jim Drew (president of WAS) only hangs out at his board, and currently is involved in a feud with AKA. Goldie (president of Vapor) hangs out at the AKA forum on PBN all the time, and is very good at dealing with issues as they come up. He also continues to update the software, such as making tourney legal modes for his boards. WAS doesnt support the board much anymore, and in fact is blowing them out cheap on their site just to get rid of them.

Both boards are essentially equivilant. The Pandora has several different modes, whereas the WAS is semi-only. I find WAS a lot easier to program than the pandora, and I had nothing but issues when trying to use a pandora, so I just stick with the WAS. It works great for me.

Boards though, I found my WAS, was alot more bouncy, with debounce set real low, although I think there have been a few firmware updates since then.

People have said they find the was board faster even when set at a legal rate, but I have also heard the pandora has better eye logic so your less likly to chop...but I never never chop with my was boarded vikings...so...

Either board is just fine. but if I did havbe the choice between the 2 I'd pic was...though I have pandora in my Excal and am to lazer to take it out....


My custom viking is coming with pandora....just because it have high re-sell rate then a was...I have a 1.6 I'm going to put in it then sell the pandora, then wait for tadao to come out


Though for normal game play I preffer WAS semi auto legal (high debounce) tadao would just be for messing around at the crono station cause most of it's settings are any thing but legal...lol.

Steelrat pretty much summed it up.

The eyes are all the same, and the boards, well, honestly, you won't tell a difference.

Personally I prefer WAS (even though the owner is a jerk).

I have WAS in my vike, and I prefer it to pandora too. I just wish that WAS would program to PSP codes.

Some ppl get too much bounce w/ WAS because they take the trigger spring out and set the pull too short and that leads to mechanical bounce.

eyes are same, as listed above, and as for board, my team had collectively had 2 pandora'ed vikings, and 2 WAS'ed vikings, all of us prefered both pandora'ed vikings over the WAS'ed ones, and genreally, on the pbn AKA board, people prefer the pandora board (partly just because of the customer serviece/owner isnt an ***) AO seems to prefer WAS, but, hey, not a huge difference between the 2.

also, if your just getting a viking, yo may concider saving the $$ and getting one with the old nelson board (make shure it has eyes, or is tapped for them though) because soon tadao will come out for vikings and it will probably be something you will want to pick up

I have pandora and I like it. I would get Pandora, Jimmy seems a lil unstable.
