    Barrel choices.

I'm in the market for a new barrel system. I'm looking for something that's not going to break or give me trouble. Already have one that does all that (Freak, so i'd want something with solid backs. I've been looking at the empire 7 piece, and the j&j edge 5 piece. Has anyone out there used either of these? Let me know what you think of them, or if you have something else you'd recomend.

I can vouch for the JJ edge kit. Great kit at a very affordable price. I loved mine when I had it.

Check out pipe kit, or stiffi switch. You cannot use fibrous cloths to clean the stiffi though (ie paper towels, rags, battle swabs are out of the question) Rubber squeegees only. I recommend the Proflex pull through.

I'll echo the Lucky 15's or a set of CP One PIece Barrels. Both will run about the same after purchasing a case for the CP's.

Can vouch for Pipe and Lucky 15. Warped has a store here, and I shot one on a cocker. Shot darts. Pipe is nice, too. I used an Omen for a game once, and it had a Pipe. Good, but the one I used did NOT shoot through a chop.

I like CP barrels, but the Empire kit is also a decent kit. To be honest, most of the solid back kits and sets these days are all on par. It really comes down to what material you want(Stainless steel or Aluminum for the most part), how much do you want to spend, number of pieces, and weight, and look.

Another thing you need to consider are aftermarket pieces. Alot of customs companies (Doc Nickle comes to mind) make aftermarket tips for barrel kits. Some will make your kit look like another (freak that looks like a boomy), others just lighten it up.

My personal recommendation? I'd say get an Empire 4 piece kit and if you want a different tip just order another one and sell the 14"

              But that's just me.

The Luck15 does look nice, but it doesn't have as many sizes as i would like for that price. And as for ONLY needing 2 backs and a tip for an ultralite, that would cost double what the J&J kit would for half the backs. And in my opinion, j&j makes better barrels anyways. (Not trying to nock Dye, just always found J&Js shot extremely well). I kindof like the pipe kit, but it makes me kind of leary. I've heard they are kindof loud and the backs can stick to the fronts if they take to much side to side pressure, so I'm trying to play it a little safe until i see/shoot one. Stiffi... well, i wont even go there. On top of the other things i dont like about the switch, it's make of carbon fiber, and i would **** myself if i ever broke a barrel that expensive. Although i love CP stuff, and would like nothing better than to own a pro kit, they seem a bit expensive for what you get. Python hit it on the head i think. I think i'm going to get the empire 7 piece cause i can get it for about the same price i can get the J&J, and i'd get 2 more backs. That is, unless someone has something to say that would disuade me from the empire before i finish this deal.

                  Thanks

I would say go for Lapco stuff.

Snapshot is nice but is a little steep in price,

I went with the bigshot, autospirit, microshot. Still a bit of money.

or for like half the price you could get a CP tip, and the appropriate backs.

dont let dye fool you, .688, and .692 arent better bore sizes.. haha

and if lapco had a +.691, or maybe .693, i would have that and a bigshot (./689 correct?)

lapco and CP make excellent stuff, hands down.
