    tourney advice

My team and i are playing in our first tourney next month, and we need some advice. What are some good strategys for a three man center flag format? We are going to play in the Novice division.

ok i've never tried this with a 3 man team before, we usually play 5 or 7 so this is a smaller scale, but we usually play strongside with a ghost flanker-yeah i know, we played way too much woodsball before we got into tourneys. Okay this is an easy concept to grasp, what you do is you get a pair, and someone who is very experienced, and preferably a fast runner and has a fast gun. Well what the pair does is it starts out going to the left or right, and they work in a pair, and they alternate switching between playing back and front, covering each other as they make moves up the field. When they get in position, the ghost, who should've been laying down enough cover fire for them to get there safely, will now use the cover of the 2 guys on the side, and go the other way so that he can slowly come around and tag them out one by one. yeah, sounds very woodsballish but it's very effective if it's pulled off well. Also, the one main factor is that during suppresion fire, one person can cover only one angle, so at best, when someone is making a move, only two people can be under fire, while the other can be shooting at you, so you have to watch out for any weird movements in the other team. Other than that, hope this isn't too complicated and have some fun!

I play 3 man, and we won our last tournament. What we do is normally have all 3 people shooting OTB, and if there is a home, have 2 lane and walk to home, and 1 run and shoot to a 30 or so. Make sure your very aggresive, making moves wins 3 man. A huge part of the game will be dropping 1 otb, that almost seals a win. Hope that was some help.

Talk to one another. Plan out what you are going to call different areas of the field. It really sux when you don't know what area your teammate is talking about.

Be fluid. Watch the other teams and figure out what you will need to do to beat them. Make sure that you find out beforehand who is the quickest, smallest, and best shot on your team. Know your strengths so that you can utilize them.

Make sure and pay attention to where the opposing teams moves to. Pay attention to where your own team moves and who goes out when. Know who is in the game, and out at all times.

2 laning corners/50's + 1 running and shooting to the center 50 (shooting dominate at the right or left 30 bunker)

Then if they send one to the 50, sacrafice your 50 guy to bunker the other center 50, then start movin up the tape. As soon as they stop looking at you, BUMP up, do not hesistate, by the time you're getting to your bunker they will have just gotten their gun up, even by then they might not have seen you move.

Don't play overly aggressive, but don't play too laid back.

if there's a huge center 50, send 2 there, make sure one of them shoots atleast one guy than runs-thru and bunkers the center 50. You'll have 1 in the back and 1 at the 50, most teams don't send two to the 50 so they won't expect anyone there.

GL and have fun. I'll be playing 4man tournaments this saturday. I'm a rookie but allowed to play young guns for 2 more years (sad how it's setup). So I'll be taking advantage of that and "sand-bagging" even though I'm allowed to. Hell last tournament I bunkered a novice player playing YG... <3 for lil-drew.

Back guy, shoot and don't get shot. Other back guy run left, shoot and don't get shot. Front/Mid guy, run, hide, shoot, run, pull flag, and don't get shot.

I know I'm not being helpful, but I'm feeling like a smart arse tonight. Probably from reading the resurrection of the "company motto" thread.
                  I went like this :shooting:

be aggressive!! have plenty of back up gear!! if you can go rookie especially if this is your first tourney it will be alot more leniant than if you play novice! lane if there is a guy there put paint at where he will be if he comes out!! your back guy needs to put paint on their corners and watching for the run through!! if there is a lull and you know where the last 2 guys are or you know where their biggest threats are go for the bunker but remember its obvious when someone lays on a side for more than a second that something is coming so make sure you alternate between bunkers and if you can get away with it lane one side then come around the other!! oh and search there is already a thread like this that has lots of stuff in it!!
