    t board eyes

i have friend whos maxing out his spyder extra, ya know, the anti chop bolt, esp electro frame, new expansion chambers, egg2, the whole thing. now he wants to get the t bord and maybe get the eyes with it. what the deal witht the eyes? do you just hook em up to the t board, route them through the main body and drill holes in the main body for them? just wondering to clear this up. after all, i could do this to my mag if i wanted to, i think. it culd bve a pretty awesome gun, both mag and spyder.

Most people, mill slots in the top of thier frame to route the wires through. Then drill hole is the body for the eyes, and a couple tapped holes to install some timmy eyecovers. It can look really profesional, or really crappy. Depends on how much time you take on it. Over on PBN (i know it's a dirty word) in the kingman section there is a how to and a template to do the body. The grooves in the frame are easily made with a dremel or mill (preffered).

Better to use a drill press than a hand held. You can end up getting a bad angle. I believe that you get a template with the newest Tboard. If using a jam you might not need the eyes. A friend of mine uses a jam on his ebalde cocker because his eyes went out. Really like it.

I wouldn't recomend a drill. Drill press will work or a mill if at all possible.

my friend is doing this to his upppppped spyder extra so hes not at a big loss if he screw up. its just a spyder, and he has a stock backup spyder that he can take the main body from if he screws up anyways. but......if i messed up my ule main body, im screwed. but i dont thinkim doing this anyways.

hmmm, good question. If you contact Damon (maker of the Tboard) he might know. You can find his email address over on the kingman forum of PBN. Otherwise, if you can take a close up picture of your board and the mounting holes, I might be able to make an educated guess.

Ok, got a little info for you. The IS board for spyders will fit and have been put into a hyper frame. And seeing as how the IS and the Tboard have identical specs(in size). I would venture into saying that yes the Tboard will fit into the frame. The only problem (if you don't know how to solder) is that the plugs are not the same. So you would have to attach them a different way (by soldering). Hope this helps.

                      It's 57mm tall and 22mm wide.

So, when installing eyes, you just drill the holes and pop the eyes in? There isn't any threads or tapping involved? How exactly would you install eyes into a ULE body?

It LOOKS like 21-22mm wide and arround 60mm tall, but then again, thats me with a plastic ruler eyeballing it

EDIT: you could use a thinner battery and make a little cut if your cutting it too close...
