I'd advise against using waffle racers in the woods.
    Why?
Cuz they were designed to be light. Had a pair when I use to run track
Put a tack through the sole without a problem.
Now try running in the woods with such a shoe
Also I tend to prefer a little more ankle support in my paintball shoes/boots.

DYE ATCS are nice but really they arent much more than regular old shoes. They are very reliable though, I've used mine for 2 years now I think, maybe 3? and I'm just now retiring them because I got new shoes. There are a few holes in them but they still feel good

Or you can just go to walmart and buy a pair of cleats for $15, like RRFireblade said. I'd recommend doing that.

i've always used army boots myself.... found em cheap at a surplus store. u can step in all kinda crap an not even care. my freind actually lost a shoe in some deep mud before. i've never worried abt that with my boots. an extra plus is they're easy to clean, last forever, and will keep your feet dry

that said tho.. now that i'm playing tourny ball more often, i'm thinkin of pickin up a pair of football boots

er i mean soccer cleats.. heheh we call em boots over here (UK)... never even heard of a "cleat" before lol
