    Things to know before buying

    Hi,

I want to switch marker in about a year and I'm a big fan of mechanical markers. So I'm getting the most info I can on mags and I'm posting here to see if anyone would have some valuable hints or "things I should know" before actually buying. I want to make a wise choice.

On the budget side, well I'm not rich but I know that quality has a price too.

So right now I'm in love with about any RT ULE.

I'm reading that a lot of you are building mags from scratch, would it be a good idea for me since I never owned a mag before.

I hope I'm not too much of a typical noob...but hey you guys seem to be THE reference on the net so...

Oh yeah, right now I'm still on CO2 and I think that my first move should be to switch to HPA but should I buy a HP or LP tank if I plan to use it with a mag. I read that mags operate with an input pressure from 600 to 1000psi...is that a rule for all mags ?

What barrel threading mags use ?

    Thanks!

Definately a high pressure tank. You should be able to get a good idea of a mag you want to build or want to purchase from AO dealers.(RogueFactor, Tunaman, FragTek, Logic, etc.)

ok cool, I'm also looking for the "do that" and "dont do that" that may seem obvious to you guys but very handy for a mag noob like me.

A preset tank around 800 psi should be plenty good for a mag. Unless you are feeling the need to put a higher pressure to get the Bounce R/T affect, which you would need an ajustable tank.
I would reccomend the Paradigm from Rouge, or the AGD Rt Pro. Both good guns.

Get the RT ULE custom from AGD or other dealers which may offer it with slight varations.

          It will have autococker threads.

Don't get a low pressure tank get a high pressure preset(crossfire,macdev,pmi,dye)(68 ci 4500psi or larger)

If you get the Rt ule it will not function off Co2, so you must buy hpa

I hope i answered most of your questions good luck.

Get the ULE body (only $10 more )
            Get the ULT
Get a better frame (intelliframe, Chimera frame, Y-grip)
I would personally recomend not buying a barrel from AGD, because they are expensive. I strongly reccomend a CP 1 or 2 piece barrel.
You can remove the rear sight rail, but to remove the front one, you will either have to drill through the rail or buy a new rail.
Definitly look into Rogue's parts. www.themagsmith.com
If you know exactly what you want, you can email rogue for him to build you a custom gun. (I think)
I highly reccomend the RPG Shadow rail out of personal experience, it is insanely light. (its a bit expensive though)
            Automag RT Pro
            ULE Body
            RT Valve w/ LvL 10
            AM/MM Rail
            Intelliframe
            Custom Products Matrix barrel
            CP small drop
            Black

dont mess with the trigger rod length. Dont build a mag from scratch..too expensive. You can with everythign you want for much cheaper.

Yeah, I'm scratching my head on this one too...

Anyway, before you buy a HPA tank, check your local field and see if they can fill a 4500 psi tank. Some fields only do 3000. Better safe than sorry, that's all.

^^ He means you have to punch the hole in the rail to have a foregrip w/o the stock bracket.

since you like mech, check out phish's thread in the workshop. Coolest mech trigger possible(and undoughbtedly the fastest) for the mag

illd get the 4500 tank wehter the local field can fil it or not. doesnt hurt anything to not be able to get it that high, but it will piss you off if you go somewere that could fill it and you dont have it

is the feedneck and the body made from one solid piece on a RT ULE ?

how does the inside of the feedneck looks like, how my empire reloader would fit ?

what needs to be done to add a clamping feedneck ?

                        thanks!

The feedneck is removable, Angel threaded. You can find Clamping feednecks in the Dealer's Forum here. The inside of the feedneck looks like...a feedneck Dunno how Relaoders fit, never used em.

cool, if I can install any angel feedneck it's all good.

                            thanks for the tip.

I suggest you sand your feed neck down a little, I mean just a little. I sanded my HALO B down for about 5 minutes and it fits the ULE stock feed neck perfectly.
