So, whats a used Ion worth (we love Ion threads, yes we do)

So.. really, whats a used Ion worth?

Considering a new dealer cost of somehwere in the $220 to $230 range I place there used value to be at about $170.

Yet I see people trying to trade Ions with $50 in "ups" for high end markers plus $100 cash. Im curious, am I nuts, or are the Ion owners nuts who are trying to sell on what they think the value is.

Please note I am not considering NIB Ions... I am thinking about used ones. I personally don't care, I have mine and don't intend to sell it. I'm just curious if anyone else thinks that some of the trade and cash "askings" for used Ions is just nuts.

The Ion people who are selling them for that much arent selling them. I just think they are people who dont know how much they are worth

You can't go by dealer cost and then use that to figure used retail. (that's not Dealer cost anyway)

Used retail IMO would be $200-$220 in perfect condition.

Now if your trading it in, $150 tops unless your trading towards something much more expensive then I'll make it look like you got $250.

That's what the experienced sales people do.

SP is so back ordered on this thing... They have sold 20000 and backordered another 12000. I think they are shipping all the remaining backorders in any color you want as long as it is black... I looked all over Atlanta and no one even had one to touch...

As far as "used", the gun has only been shipping since like Febuary I think, so it can't be older than 2 months old. It is the new and hottest gun, for now anyway. There is more demand than supply so pricing is at a premium. After they clear out their backorders and all the dealers have a couple on the shelf, prices will probably drop way off...

Good old supply and demand. If there arent enough ...you can get nearly what you paid for them.
In 6 months wen these arent the hot new flavor THEN we shall see what a used ION is worth.
But for now...Im glad I can shift them fast if I need to

They are still worth a lot used since they are pretty new and are in high demand. I'd say around 250, no lower then 215.

I think any gun loses value like a car. AS soon as you "drive it off the lot"(take it out of box), it loses value. Say maybe at least 30%? Then you add upgrades that you may have put on. Add those value(new rounded down) to the gun value. This would not be a fast rule, but a base value. Less off if the gun was never shot, but more if heavily used. If it works flawlessly or is damaged. There are many variables to take intaccount. If both people are willing to work it out, it's a good thing.
