    time for a new hopper.

well my egg is about to be retired. im going to be upgrading to a Halo or Reloader B. I have a couple questions for you guys who know more on the subject. right now ive found Halos for 114 with rip drive and Empire B's for 144

    1. is the Reloader B's sound activation worth the extra 30 bucks? do you even notice the diference?

    2. i heard the drive cones have a tendency to break. would it be worth it to just get an aluminum one right off the bat?

    3. on the aluminum cone, it says the knob is not included. what are they talking about, and where do i get one?

thanks in advance fellas. cant wait to finally make the upgrade

    1. If you have the extra money I think it is worth it b/c instead of waiting for a ball to miss feed on the Halo B the Reloader B will continuously spin after each shot, thus not allowing a chance for a ball to not be loaded.

    2. The aluminum drive cones and knobs are definately worth it. You will never have to replace them again.

    3. The knob is the rip drive knob I believe. You can buy them both at once and save some money. Try orderring from shocktech.usa, their products are usually good.

        1. I would definately go with the Reloader B, because of the dark colored paint issue halo b's have not seeing so not feeding. Stock halo b's dont come with a rip drive, the reloaders do, that's a 10-15 addition.

        2. I would suggest a delrin drivecone from zentitram(i'm pretty i misspelled it) since it's 10-15 cheaper than the critical delrin drive cone and the aluminum cone. Plus, your motor will be kinder to you with the delrin cone vs the aluminum. there is a significant weight difference...significant, being in grams not lbs

EDIT: To reply to the Empires sucks.
This issue occurs when you either load your hopper with paint then turn it on, which it then detects the sound/vibration signature at that point. If you turn on the reloader while it's empty and a quiet/semi quiet place, it'll function flawlessly.

I have used my NDFS with a stiffi with my reloader b's and never had an issue of not feeding other than the ball being mis-shaped.

defiantely empty, if youre near a chrono station before a tourney is about to start, that is not a prime space to turn it on. just dont have a lot of people dry firing around you when you turn it on. Also, if you cant help but be located to a noisy location, you can take the foam off around the mic.

Empire-b's run more off vibrations, you can yell into it and it'll go off, but that's about it.
Empire-b's are harder on paint, but much faster, probably the fastest out of all hoppers.

I use an angry-board in mine, it's not much faster than the stock halo, but it's much gentler on paint, in washington paint is brittle as hell, cold weather + rain = need gentle.

I may pickup another empire-b later on but yeah it doesn't matter.
Halo-b is fast enough. But if you can afford it, and have decent paint, get the empire-b.

Don't get an aluminum drive-cone, grab a delrin.

I've had both and i like the Reloader.- feeds faster/steadier for me. And you don't need a loud gun- any gun should work it fine. Just make sure you have strong- preferably double- ball detents.

                2. i heard the drive cones have a tendency to break. would it be worth it to just get an aluminum one right off the bat?

I've never had any problems withthe original pieces. why bother replacing before they (possibly) break?

                3. on the aluminum cone, it says the knob is not included. what are they talking about, and where do i get one?

                same as above.
also, it's simple- just turn it on empty and then fill- you're all set. I like the adjustable speeds on it too.
                sigs are overrated.

i think working reloader b's are great, but alot of people have had problems with them (wel, really guns handling them rahter than the loader not working) alot of pushing past detents/causing chops, i have heard that leaving them on setting 2 is normally good though.
I havent really had any problems with my halo other than the drive cone, as you already noted, mine broke off the break in my last tourney, managed to snap shoot a kid while cramming paint down the halo with my finger, but, still, not good, i would invest in a aluminum or derlin drive cone if you have the spare cash, just so you never have to worry about it.

my vote goes for halo with derlin drive cone

oh, and the knob the drive cone dosent come with, is an aluminum rip drive knob, no need for that if you already have rip drive

Buy used and save yourself tons of money. Used stuff isnt bad its just used, which means broken in lol.

Thing with halos is they may jam, and without a rip drive, you are SCREWED

Z code takes care of this with HALO B's. It comes stock now in all of them.

just looked at ActionVillage. are the Reloaders bigger? the site says the Reloaders hold ~190 while the Halos hold 170

                          they use the same shells.

i have a reloader b and have no problems with it, on either my viking or my merlin. i run it at setting 2, and it's plenty fast. i've never crushed paint with it nor do i feel the need to run it on setting 3..
