    So I picked up a used mag...

    Well I picked up my...well...dont want to say what number mag today...

    And I noticed that it has a Shocktech valve on it, (oh its a classic btw) well anyways the regulator part from Shocktech is made of aluminum and was wondering if anyone has any information about this. I searched and came up with nothing.

      Everything I ever read about aftermarket Mag valves just said the same thing, stay away from them. I believe many of the long time Mag users, and tinkerers will say the same thing.

          It was cheap..I wasnt going to pass on a cheap mag heh.

                  I wouldn't pay more for after-marker reg parts for a Mag but that's because they generaly never do anything positive for performance.

                  On the other hand, it's rare for them to cause significant problems so if you got a good deal and your Mag is working then just go with it.

                      well i picked this up for 50 dollars. Found out all it needs is a new spacer, they put a spring in there instead of a spacer. I have owned Mags for about 7 years or so. And have owned A LOT of them heh.

                          If I recall correctly the Shocktech reg was just a reg back with the 8-hole mod made out of Al. No other differences that I can remember.

                              Yeah I took it apart and it is the 8 hole mod...but I really havnt heard much about this reg, I have heard of the ones that were sent in, but did not know they made one.

                                      I got a pic of the valve itself I'll post it later, but for your viewing pleasure heres the setup. some guy sold it to me on a minimag saying it was an X-Valve. With this being my first mag I'm compleetly disapointed Maby I can send it back or get him to give me an actual X Valve heh.
