        my guess would be photoshop :P. the DC guys took the pic, and im assuming they did it on a white sheet and just photoshopped it into a background.

        ano isnt paint, it doesnt have "thickness" unless youre talking about type 2 vs type 3. anodizing doesnt coat the metal, it actually colors the metal itself. im assuming youre talking about how the marker looks glossy in the second pic but like more of a "dust" finish in the first. thats just cause it was polished before the ano.
