Dilemma / Giving up on mags

Well I bought a custom mag a few months back with high hopes.. sadly it was un-competitive. I sold it and now have about $750 sitting here waiting to get a new gun but there's nothing in the mag market that can satisfy what I want.

Devilmags are 900 and take forever, X-mags are 1200 and rare, emags are heavy and ugly.

I was wishing the Pneumag would come out.. i seriously doubt it will for a long time.

    What do I do?

      Maybe get your facts straight?

I am not sure what un-competitive is, but I will leave that alone for now.

      emags are heavy and ugly
ULE emags are lighter than Xmags and ugly is an astetics issue and has little to do with the competitiveness of a gun, unless you are showing off at the chrono, which from your statement about your competitiveness, sound like the problem rather than the type of marker you own.

by uncompetitive I mean slow. It's hard enough to get E-Mag lowers, but with just the body / lowers I'm spending about 7-800 .. still need a barrel, asa etc..

          Slow? How so?

What couldn't you do to get it "fast"? What did you try?

Get yourself something shiny and electric with a bounce/rebound feature. Seems to be what you're after.

              Must it be a mag?

If you have $750 sitting around, I can higly recommend a viking, or an ebladed merlin. In fact, a teammate if mine is selling his sweet ebladed merlin for less than that I believe, and the thing is absolutely beautiful.

If you are uninterested, I would recommend a viking. There performance is nearly unmatched when it comes to electros. They are just as, if not more reliable than an emag. The only downside, is no mech mode. You can prolly find an '04 for about $700-750 if you look hard enough.

Well frankly every good viking I have seen for sale has been around 800-850 and not moving too well. That's not what I want.

I have debated doing a custom mag with e-mag lowers but have had an impossible time finding lowers.. for a decent price.

I still may do it. This weekend I'm goin to a shop to look at guns. If nothing appeals to me then I may build a mag. One question, how long does it take to get parts from DW? I'd probably do a Dallara or Karta body, LX / X-Valve etc..

The only thing I don't like about doing an E-mag is that the trigger is terrible and there's no good grips out for the frames.

You have all heard my complaints about mags, the trigger, adn speed, are not in that list.

Unless your ramping speed is a matter of trigger pulls.

The HES and magno trigger is the best trigger I have ever used - and its nearly infinetely adjustable.

You could pick up a freestyle. They are fairly cheap and hella fast. They are the same concept as a mag but are just electric and stuff. They are fairly cheap and light. They look sweet too.

Just my opinion since i shoot icd....

well I think I'm just dreaming with custom mag on emag lowers.

I think it's gonna be Pneumag or No-mag

p.s - I was looking at freestyles.. they seem tempting but I don't know jack about them.
