the only thing that will really cause cracking other than dropping or falling on the hopper that i could see would be over tightening a feedneck, but, not an issue with your minimag -

I see this alot at my field, especially with halo shells. I saw one guy walk out with his halo in his hand and gun in the other and you could see the blue thing sticken out th ebottom. It happened to me and being the cheap person i am, i took a stainless steel bushing i made and put it on the blue part for now, may not be good for it but it works great and i dont slam around to hard.
