2-3 times a month if I'm lucky. Almost never in the winter.
So how often do you actually get out and play?

try to play at least once a month. but that just plain doesnt happen. last year i only got out 4 times. 2 of which were AO events. my biggest problem seems getting people together to play.Originally posted by dano_____I keep forgetting to not feed my mags after midnight so they seem to multiply regularly.Comment

I can see how w/ kids it can be harder, but I am 25, married and my wife is pregnant, and I still play every weekend. Im sure I will have to take a break when it gets closer to and after the baby is born, but I still probably wont give it up soon.Originally posted by DrydenMy one weekend a year that I can always count on is coming up this weekend.
When you and all your friends start getting north of 30 and have children, you'll find you talk about playing paintball a heckuva lot more than actually playing it.
When I can coordinate 5 or 6 married men together to do anything on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, we're running wild like 6 year olds on Christmas Day. ... what I wouldn't give to be 16 and play paintball every weekend again.
It all depends on wifes opinion, number of children, work schedule, other weekend activities (ie soccer games, practice, etc for the kids). I wish I was 16 again too. Dont we all.

Couldn't agree more. I try to get out once per month...but never do. Some of it is married life and kids. Some of it is other hobbies. Some of it is $$$. I usually play 2-3 times a year at a field and probably 2-5 more times at a friends house in his backyard/woods. I keep saying I'm "definitely" going to play a scenario game this year...but never have the time or $$$ to pull it off.
I can really relate to your post. I used to get together 1-2 times a month to play with friends back when I was single...then everybody got married and those that didn't get married just stopped playing. My 20 people that I used to know that played paintball has turned into 2...and I can usually get only one of them to play at any given time.
I wouldn't want to be 16 again...but I'd take 18 or 19 in a heartbeat!!

this year, i've probably gone 4-5 times, but this summer, i plan on going every weekend, or almost, because ill be working and will finally have my setup all done. hopefully, that will carry on through next school year, but we'll see...you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...

Yak and Dryden:
I'll be 35 in 2 weeks. I played PB every weekend for 13 years, until I got married. Then it dropped to every other weekend. Then our first child was born, so I stopped for about 2 years. I picked it up again until our second child was born about a year after that. Then, I played pb twice. When our twins were born this past January (yup, count them, four kids), I decided to get back into PB to get back in shape. Before marriage, I used to work out 5 days a week, 4 hours a day, and run 5 miles 6 times a week. After marriage and first child, I was happy to get a mile run in LOL. Getting back in shape is gonna be a challenging trip.
I played this past weekend, and while yeah, I was slower at the break, and halfway charging up a hill, I decided to lay down
, it was a blast! I'm trying to get the wife to agree to let me play again this weekend, and if not, then I'll definitely play the weekend after that.
Point is, if it's important to you, and you have the time, and you keep your priorities in check, you can make time out for paintball. A group I used to play with had some guys who were 50+ who played just about every weekend. These guys were fit and gave the kids a run for their $$. Im not that fit (yet), but I did give the kids a run for their $$, mainly I think because of experience (these guys were 16-25 years old).
It's like what Eric said. Play hard, play alot, and keep playing till one of two things happen: Paintball dies in you, or you die in paintball

My point though was that it isn't just me ... it's everyone I play with too. It definately becomes a challenge when our 5 man team has to coordinate time with a collective 5 wives and 15 children to think about. I'll be leaving for my annual "paintball trip" Wednesday, even though we don't actually play until Saturday & Sunday.
... 5 days of paintball, beer, pool, darts, beer, poker, and beer.
The memories are great, but it's always painful to think back to being 14, buying my first pump mail order out of Action Pursuit, when we could play a "pick up" game of outlaw woodsball and not have one problem getting 20 people together to play. I've still got an old issue of Paintball Int. from 1993 when we had so many players on our team we split up and entered a 7-man tournament, taking both 1st and 3rd places. Now, I'd consider myself blessed if I could find two people and the spare time to enter a 3-man competition.
I did get my girl playing though last summer. She enjoyed it. Took to it right off the get go and took a flag without firing a shot the first game she ever played.
Army girls rock. :)
