Good point shartley. There are definately other ways to save paint. One is limiting yourself. I try not to use too much paint (But its so much fun w/ a DM5 lol) but I definately dont mind packing my phantom or sniper 2 to play with. And fact is thats were I gained most of my skill, for about 6 months I played ONLY phantom, and I saw noticeable improvements. So if you wanna save paint AND get better very fast buy a pump. But paint isnt that bad at my field thank god ($50 for White Box.)

Please read original post
I believe in my original post I offered an idea. It had more to do about raising the cost of admission slightly while lowering the cost of paint. It wasn't really an arguement about paintball fields trying to rip people off...at least it wasn't meant to be. I just offered an idea based on my experience and some of the people I know. I also asked that people post their own ideas and not just flame everyone else's...but I might as well have asked people to learn to fly.Originally posted by shartleyI have an idea!
And if anyone thinks they can do it better, give it a shot. Open your own paintball business, or open your own field (legally), then come back and tell everyone how much you are raking in while ripping off the customers and you live in your mansion on the hill and get to and from the field in your private helicopter.

Disappointed
Is your issue with me or my posts?Originally posted by sladesorry Aslan, but im getting sick of your posts. you play one game of speedball, one game, and then start a thread on how its killing the sport. and you keep arguing even though it was ONE GAME and you also keep contradicting yourself.
ok, so youre a rec player, you dont like speedball or tourneys. fine. some of my friends prefer rec. but stop making 500 posts on why speedball is bad or why its killing the sport or why new players are intimidated!
sorry, i didnt want to flame you because you seem to want to be nice and civil about this, but im sick of seeing your posts. you play one game of speedball and then say its the death of paintball, and then you keep contradicting yourself or changing your argument. thats why i left the other thread, it was just impossible to argue with you.
You say you're sick of me and left a previous thread etc...but you seem to follow me to a new one as soon as I post. I don't understand. You say you don't mean to flame...but that's all I've seen you do. I don't have a personal problem with you despite this behavior...and yes, I'm nice and civil and hope that everytime I post a thread I don't get the same 3-4 people jumping in bringing up how they hate a post I made 2 weeks ago.
Like I mentioned to shartley, my original post was an idea. I asked other people what their "ideas" were. I also asked that people list an idea rather than just flame everybody else's. No luck on either count. I offered an opinion that paint prices were too high and was offering my opinion on how to get more people interested permanently in the sport. I didn't mean to set off a firestorm as paintball field owners and store owners backlashed against my "crazy ideas".
Yes, I've taken economics...in my original post I talked about volume versus dollars and the concept that more players will eventually create a large enough and growing base that the dollars will come despite lowering the cost of paint. But that was just one of like three little ideas...one didn't really have anything to do with cost, it was about the quality of staff and incentives to make the staff better. I think I also mentioned selling different grades of paint not just lowering the cost of it.
So, if you would, could you actually read the first post and then (being fair) decide if my sole purpose on Earth is to continue posting things to annoy you?
