    need some help guys...

my friend's little brother just picked up a b2k
i know nothing about these markers.

    so what's the deal:

    efficiency?
    chopping ?
    overall quality?
    barrel threads?
what input pressure do they take?
what advantage does the chaos chip provide?
are there any model specific issues?

    any help is appreciated, thanks.

BKO's are pretty decent. I think they have pretty good efficency and I'm not sure if they have PDS or not but if they do, it can't chop. I'm pretty sure they take ICD threads but they might take cocker barrels.

I know I'm probobly not much help, but if he can save up like $50 more he can buy my B2K

1 dont dry fire it too much, some have parts that rattle loose. Open it up and tighten things down.
2 use a halo B. you will need it.
3 To use a halo you must do the detent mod. cut a 1mm section of macro line and put it inside the o-ring which is in your detent. you can also use erasers and such.

Efficiency isn't great, although i have no numbers to prove anything.
You will chop if you dont mod the detent and use a halo (or PDS which is a life saver)
quality is low, although it is a low end gun, you kind of expect that.
      it has autococker threads.
I believe it has low inputs of like <400 and probably arround 300 psi.

This is all from my experiece with my friends bko, which i worked on as much as him. Until his solenoid broke or something like that where it had to be sent to icd for 4 weeks. I do like the trigger on those though, take out the middle screw which adjusts the weight, and it seems nice (you can also do a magnet mod for like a buck or so)

thanks, we're looking to keep it around 210 for the marker, less if possible. he still has to buy a $100 air system.

        thanks again.

I am thinking of selling my mag, and buying a B2k5. I can get a really good deal on it, 250, and I am selling my mag for 200. I know this isnt my topic, but it was on the same subject sorta, and if he would like a great mag, pm me.

If he doesn't want an Ion the Diablo Wraith could be a good option for him... it's the underhyped, less expensive, not plastic version of the Ion. But I guess they are pretty close in operation too. BKOs are nice also.

The BKO and the Wrath are very simliar.
Both use spring returned ram. (Which makes it cheaper)

The wrath comes with breakbeam eyes stock, I dont think BKOs come with PDS stock.

I would save up a little more and get the B2K. Its a great gun for the price. And on E-bay, they're very very cheap.

                        so what's the deal:

efficiency? I'm not sure...I think average though.
chopping ? Not if it has PDS, which is the standard upgfrade for b2ks and bkos.
overall quality? Quite good from what I understand.
                        barrel threads? Autococker.
what input pressure do they take? I believe high...so like 600-900
what advantage does the chaos chip provide? Faster speeds, and I think it is then able to take different eyes (please correct is wrong).
are there any model specific issues? Not that I know of.

                        any help is appreciated, thanks.

The B2K uses 'Cocker threads only on the newer models (and on Defiants). Both my BKO and B2K have ICD threading. Also, I've never chopped with my B2K, and it doesn't have PDS.
