AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Way to go crazy! You are now a part of AO history, now Phil, right this in the AO sacred scroll so that we can read it off at the sacred AO Bonfire...I still don't have the official Tom Kaye flipflops!!!!
Why is there a post count to begin with? Does anyone feel that by reading a certain member's post count that they are dealing with someone more special than any one else?
This is all sooooo unnecessary to me, but still seems to fascinate people in spite of requests from the administration to resist posting for numerical reasons.
AGD-if you really want people to stop, then you have to remember that you're also egging people on with your announcements of record posting, attendance, thread topics and the like. The amount of posts in no way reflects the quality of what's happening on this board.
These one liners to increase post counts is getting ridiculous, and reminiscent of battles on pbcity where people would put down just a word or two just to increase their post count so they could have more than someone else.
I've been on this forum for over a year, since AGD took over. Does it say that anywhere in my sig? Does it matter? Does anyone care?
It's the last thing I look at.
I know now in the meantime what members are actually posting interesting and valuable information just by looking at their name.
Come on guys, try to keep this place something special, and not just spam.
