    Egg 2 Shells

I just bought some new shells for my Egg 2. They are the "newer" style, while my Egg is of the "older" flavor. My question is, before I attempt anything, will my older style lock lid be able to go onto the new body?(I know it will fit physically) I don't have the new plastic pins that hold the lid in place--I will be using the screws from my older one.

    Has anyone done this?

    Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure but I dont think it'll work without the pins. Like you said, it will fit on the shell but the screws you have won't work. You could always tap the shell so your screws would work.

The new shells don't work right with the screws or the springs from the older style eggs. The new hinges and springs are much better than the older ones.

There are four known dealers for the replacement parts: Check here.

I ordered from Drop Zone and got my stuff in a matter of days. You might be able to order the $10 flip lid upgrade, if you need all the parts. Give them a call or e-mail before you order to ensure it has everything you need. I just ordered the pins, washers and springs. Drop Zone Egg Replacement Parts.

I put new shells on my egg recently and found the screws were no good anymore, the lid will fit and stay on without them, you just can't get the spring on them like before so you have to do everything the old fashoned way and acctually close the lid yourself.

I got mine from dropzone too. They work a lot better than the screws. Get the new battery door while you are at it. They changed the design and guess what? You dont have to tape the door shut! Good luck and God Bless.
