what strips the paint off of a PGP the fastest?

i'm converting a PGP to semi and i need to strip the paint off to reveal the brass underneath. what will do this the fastest without harming the brass?

i've already tried mineral spirits, nail polish remover, and laquer thinner to no avail.
so now i'm moving to actual paint stripping products.

        Ummmmmmmmmm

Try FLITZ or MAAS and good old elbo grease for a GOLD like shine. Worked for me anyways.

personman: ha! i was looking on that site when you posted. i'll give that a shot.

beemer: my tube of maas goes just about everywhere with me. metalwork is my other love, actually tied for first with paintball. but i was tallking about removal of the paint. i think that the micro-abrasion of the maas would not be enough to get through the paint.

thanks for the quick replies guys. keep 'em comin'.

best way as stated is draino, and lye. both purposes are for plumbing use but gets reid of anodization quickly and efficiently.

I think a PGP is powder coated. Since its brass, its not anno, and all the anno-striping techniques wont work.

I know there are things made to remove powder coat. Check this one out.

Actually they are painted, the solder holding the tubes together on a PGP doesn't hold well at the baking temp used for powdercoat.
At least the older ones don't..

                    RIP PGP
