AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
It can be.
I was at a local field last week for a Recball speedball night. Just people having fun, so I thought....
then the Ref started a mini-3-man/X-Ball tourney. People were going crazy during the games, some shooting a case every few minutes. I stayed out and teched a bud's BT-16.
in 3 man, i normally use one pod, if any. And shoot a case - a case and a half per event. And, our team does really well, i dont believe we finished below 3rd in anything we played this season. There are teams who use more cases per player than our whole team, and, its obviously not gainging them anything if we keep winning. I think you shouldnt intentionally hold back on how much paint you shoot, and limit your play, but, no need for the excess paint dumping alot of teams do
If massive amounts of fire power are important from a back man, why haven't we seen any mega sized loaders?
Remember when loaders were whalers and you filled them with guppies?
That's exactly why. Having to deal with the extra size and weight when you'll only use the extra size/paint on the break isn't worth it. 140 ball pod into a 300 ball hopper is kind of pointless.
I'd like the Halo to be a little bigger (200 balls perhaps) so you can refill before you're in danger of running dry.

One of my buds still has his VL3000. People commonly believe (I believe that this is mostly false) that more paint is shot during speedball/tournament games... more paint is shot per period of time, but the games are much shorter. I usually play hopperball during practice/ rec, in tournaments I'll carry 3-4 pods. There are some people that shoot a ton of paint and sit in the back in speedball games... but there are also many that do the same in the woods. Now, when I'm in a tight bunker in a tournament, I want the back player behind me to be dumping paint down the line - but he's just watching the line so that I can move up and get a few out with quick cross shots. The paint is just being shot in 3 minutes instead of 30.

I've never been one to worry too much about weight but quite a few people are. That, and the 140 ball pods is why larger loaders haven't been marketed.
