I have a freak on my 'mag. You can see some pics of the various options for the freak barrels at www.smartparts.com, follow the "Freak" button.

that LOOKS like a 10" stainless, 4" aluminum piece...what exactly IS the dimensions on the back..and when you buy a front, say 14" front, does it make it 14" overall or is just the front 14"?

14" inch front makes the complete barrel 14"

Actually, a 14" inch front will make a 15.5" barrel overall.. trust me, the barrel on my 'mag is a '14" Freak' any length you order, add 1.5" onto it, a 10" front will make a 11.5" Freak barrel, a 12" front will make a 13.5" barrel, so on and so fourth.

Has anyone else out there been really happy with the stock E-mag barrel as I have? Really Gus, give it a try before you decide. The stock barrel was all I needed for great accuracy and consistency. I rarely had any choppage with the e-mag and never any barrel breaks.
Oh well, the e-mag and the choice is yours now.

Extra Length in the MAG Freak...

I was talking to the guy at my local pb store and discussing the freak. On the Automag, there is an extra 1" or 1.5" to accomidate the twist lock. This also means that the ball must travel that same distance down the barrel before it hits the Freak's special bore tube that has been matched to your paint. This makes me ponder whether the freak in a mag would be as effective as a freak in another gun...

I think they should make a whole diffrent Mag Freak. With the balls actually loaded into the inserts before its fired..

To answer your ?. No it is as effective on the mag aas any other. The insert starts at the first o-ring on the barrel. There is a very small space in between that but it will have no effect.
