    Cyborg info

Ok yea so cyborgs have caught my eye...and im interested in getting one deffinatly buying used ..so i have some questions.

    How is MacDev's products?

What are the differences in the sonic cyborg and cyborg? (other then the milling internal and ex)

I see the board does not have ramping..not that important but can they take aftermarket boards? Liek a pred/morlock or any other board?

    How do they feel..wieght..balance etc...

Yea i may think of some other stuff i wanna know but thats all for now..and feel free to add any other helpful info and opnions..

O yea ive seen a few for sale used..but whats the average used price for a cyborg and a sonic?

You can get a reg cyborg for 600 NEW and a sonic cyborg for 800 NEW. Not sure if you knew about it, but most people selling used cyborgs dont sell them for much less. Get one at www.paintballkingdom.com

But the sale wont be forever so you should get one soon.

Mine was great. Everything was solid. The fade anno wasn't the best, but that's not entirely MD's fault. All in all, good stuff.

Milling, different trigger, the Sonic Feedneck and Bolt and the board is more adjustable. Basically, the Sonic has all the upgraded parts on it.

Pred/Morlock was designed to be able to work in any gun. If you're looking for a drop in board though, Tadao has one that's out and so does Nox.

Weight wasn't bad, I felt a bit taller than I'd like (personal preference) and a bit backheavy (again, personal observation... could be my setup). The trigger felt a bit weird, some people don't mind at all though

I know you can get a new Cyborg for $600 and a Sonic for $800.

I bought my Cyborg new and ended up trading it for a Freestyle with upgrades (this was back when the 04's were out.. before the 05's). The retainer o-ring on my Gladiator blew (MD got a bad batch of o-rings in), which took out my Gladiator and the HP gauge on the gun. Luckily, I had a sidewinder for backup. MD did however get me a new retainer and gauge free though. The stock detents aren't the best and had one of the springs blow. Since they're not user servicable, that's quite a bit of a problem. I ended up swapping one for a Shocktech rebuildable detent and had no problems. Last but not least, the eyes started acting up in a game. Gun would work fine for a few shots... then not work (but work with the eyes off). I'm not sure if it was the battery or what, but I figured that was the last straw and traded it. Although it's personal preference (again), I'm not a huge fan of the on/off. Push and hold for on/eyes on. Push and hold again to get eyes off. Continue to hold for off. Release and push again for eyes on. Basically, if you needed to turn the eyes off to clear the breech, then turn it back on, you'd be out of the game a good 10-15 seconds. Not the worst thing, but the last thing I want to do is stand there and look at my grip for the flashing light so I know when I've got the eyes on or off so I don't pass up what I want.

Build quality was great and it was quick... but after having a few problems, I decided it was time for something else. It just seemed to shoot too much like every other open bolt stacked tube gun... kinda like my current angel, but lighter.

This post may come across as me just bashing it... I think I just didn't get the absolute best one. The Gladiator performs great, so does the LPR, I just think for the 980 I paid for it, it should have at least come with a clamping feedneck like 90% of every other gun on the market.

Operating pressure is about 200 stock... many people up them to around 225ish and lower their LPR for reduced kick / action.

They're stacked tube electropneumatic. Like most other high end electro's (Angel, Intimidator, Viking, etc)

there alright, only comment i have really is that i couldnt stand the trigger/frame, and the marker felt very impulse-ish to me, not super high quality like some other markers.

so why pay 5-600 for a used one when there new for 6...dont make much sense to me. I found a used one for 515 only upgrade is the feedneck...so why not buy a brand new one for 600 or am i missing something?

I don't like them. They feel cheap to me, but borgs are suppose to have good quality. If you like a light marker and don't mind a bit of kick, I think the borg would be an ok choice.
