    My V-force goggle fan system...

Ok so here are pics of the fan system I made up for my V-force morph goggles.

The fans are rated for 5v and I am running them in series from a 9v. I'm not sure if they produce enough flow so I may end up running them from a small voltage regulator at a slightly higher voltage. Anyone know if I would kill them running them at the full 9V? They aren't cheap units.

You can't see the fans from the front as they are below the top of the goggle. You can see the battery though It's not attached to the visor so I could run it without the visor on. I made it so that the battery could be easily replaced so I have a battery carrier clip. I didn't want to permanently mount the battery.

It's not much heavier and you don't feel the weight at all.

I used a JT visor as the original wouldn't fit with the fans where I wanted them to. It's easy to get the JT to fit and it looks factory. I will mainly keep the visor on as it protects the fans from splatter etc.

    here's the pics...

I have mirrored lenses also. The goggles never fog but my glasses do...

You look to be running one blowing in and the other blowing
out. Did this work better than in-in or out-out ?

I was running both in, I'm now trying this config (one in one out) to work out which is best.

I'll see after I use it a few more times.

sanyo denki allows 4.5-5.5 volts on their nominal 5V fans
kind of suggests you might let the smoke out

I have fans like that I installed in one of my masks.. I don't think a full 9 volts would hurt them. If you are still worried, just use batteries that are too dead for your revvy or warp. Thats what I did, drained every little ounce of juice out of those 9v money suckers

Hey Manike (or anyone else who has done this mod),

This is no hack job! It looks great and looks more powerful than the JT Fan I bought for $40.

I'm having trouble locating the parts (ie switch, right sized fan) to do this mod for my Vforce. Could you post the make and model of the parts you used.

How did you get the toggle switch to fit so nicely in the mask? Did you machine it or did it come in that housing already.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

I believe the 25mm ones fit. Her is where you can probably find them:

I did it to my Vforce and it works great. I bought the fans from the link hitech posted above. Get the 25 mm ones. They are set to run well off of a 9 volt.

Also you do not have to use a JT Visor (as Manike did). You can get the entire thing set up with the Vforce fan. The only modification I had to make was to cut the rubber forehead protector to make room for the fan. You cannot see this modification with the visor on. Then I put the switch to turn the fan off/on down by my cheek rather than on the visor. My Vforce used to fog up like mad in big game situations. Now it is awesome.......and I owe it all to Manike inspiring me to get off my lazy butt and put it together.

I had something very similar, not as pretty but basically the same thing Only problem is I never fog so I haven't had to install it yet

                              Nice work Manike
