    Pump Automag trouble

    Hey everyone,

I've been having some trouble with my pump automag. I bought a brand new pump kit and installed it in a minimag. The minimag has the normal Mini valve and an AGD Intelliframe was added to it. The problem is that when you air it up, it will fire fine for the first 2-4 shots, and then it will refuse to recock. I think I've narrowed down the problem to the valve. I thought that it kept getting pushed backward every time I pumped it, and eventually, the pump rod can't reach the bolt (I noticed a wide gap inbetween the body and valve, so I loosened the rear grip frame screw and pushed the valve forward, at which point it fired again). The Intelliframe has a larger than average hole in the back of it, which I think is causing the problem since it won't hold the rear screw snugly, but I can't be sure.

However, while testing it today, I took a flashlight and checked the bolt, it's moving when I push with the pump, it just won't recatch the sear. Why is this happening?

Does anyone know of a common fix for this problem? Thanks!

I put a bumper in there to try it (blue one, in addition to the black one which fits inside the wave spring (shown in picture), but it didn't work. I have the correct spacer in there (I think) so that isn't the problem. I will try adjusting it later just to be sure, but thanks for the advice.

      Any more suggestions?

          rail bushing ?????

looks like the frame is for an old rt. You can make bushing to make the hole smaller to fit the screw a pt spacer works well for this..

Is the field strip screw going into the valve body? Make sure it's tight enough. The valve shouldn't be backing out if the fs screw is screwed into it.

there has always been a gap between the valve and the body on my mag, not a pump. i dont think that matters.

Well, I switched the grip frames from the Intelliframe to the stock carbon frame and it works fine now. I have NO idea what the difference is, other than the oversize hole drilled in the rear part of the Intelliframe. Thanks for all the advice.

I would go with this, not having a rail bushing causes alot of problems.

The bumper, black or blue, is not neaded. Mine was tuned by Jay at PTP and works great without the bumper at all. just FYI.

I know what's wrong. That enlarged hole is for an RT Classic's banjo bolt. That intelliframe is worthless for any other marker. Sell it to someone with an RT Classic.

I thought that AGD had a bushing that you could use to fill that and allows its use on "standard" Mags.

Yes and no ...yes the frame is drilled for and old RT. The hole can be reduced with a bushing to fit the mags again. I have used a power tube spacer filed down on the outside pressed into the hole to make it work. Also remember the rail bushing.
