See...both of those would be great options if I was just going to post a pic. But I wanted to use the page (http://www.geocities.com/aslan_supre...ds_pbpage.html) to also post info, stories from recent paintballing, and a few guns I have up for sale.

See, here's the thing...and this has been bothering me all day since I found out that there's such a thing as "data transfer limits"...I am not good with computers. What I love about the geocities site is it's very easy to use. You can put in text and photos and move them around without any problem...and IT'S FREE!!

Now, I have a 10MB site associated with my ISP...but in order to use it...I have to download this "FTP" software and I think I have to download some html webpage developing software. Assuming the free downloads work...because I don't want to pay $40 for the software...I don't have a clue how to use them.

Does anyone with computer "skeeels" know how easy this stuff is to do? Take a look at my website and let me know if that would be too hard for me to do with my ISP webspace. One thing I was thinking was, couldn't I take the html text from the geocities site and just paste it on the other site? Probably not...not without having their backgrounds and images...I don't know...this is complicated. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

      New Webpage

Well, I managed to use MS Publisher to put together another paintball site almost exactly the same as the one I posted previously. I have to get a question answered from my ISP...so the site (webpage) won't be up till probably later next week (as I have to go out of town for work the begining of next week)...but the good news is I figured it out.

There are still a couple things I haven't quite worked out...for example:

      1) I have a counter in html language, but can't figure out how to inject it into the document.

      2) I'd like to create a few othe pages so that when somone opens the page, they can go to a different page. I'd like to add maybe a motorcycling page, sports page, and political page.

But as far as I'm concerned...I've actually made a webpage...it works...it doesn't look half bad...so I'm completely geeked! I'm bummed that it's going to rain tommorrow...since I was planning on playing paintball tommorrow...but oh well.

I just clicked on the link to the geocities site...it is working...it just has "data transfer issues" so if around 10 people all pull up the page at the same time...it goes down for an hour.

Try using freewebs.com. They have the best site builder for free. I used it to build my site and the best thing is you can have a nav bar with different sites: Here's mine: www.freewebs.com/dawg047

I like it! What type of bandwidth restrictions does it have? I'll keep it in mind. I have some tweeking to do on my new site...hopefully it will be up and running by the end of the week...and so far no bandwidth problems...but the real test will be when I put a link to it here on AO...that's when I'll get 10-20 solid hits in a short amount of time to test the badwidth.

I like how you can click on the things and go to different pages. I have to figure out how to build a page like that with MS Publisher or maybe use freewebs because right now I just have the one page so I have to shrink everything down.

I don't know about how good the bandwitch is. I really never had a problem. Yeah, I got some tweaking to do to mine still when I get some time. It kills me now trying to keep my parts for sale page up to date. Oh well, good luck.
