Witnessed proof of the demise of cockers as "high end"

At the field today a guy sold a Silver Freeflow Rhythm Eblade with all Nexus upgrades, QEV's, 15* ASA, A Dye Boomy, SP Progressive, a JT 3 piece barrel, valve tool and box of parts, attached to a 68/45 Max Flow setup, for $250 cash. All it needed was an eye ribbon.

What really pissed me off was that I didn't have the cash on me. One of my good friends did, bought it, and now I will see it two times a week

Its a sad state of affairs for the resale of such a great marker.....I just don't know if I will have the heart to pay anything near what a cocker is really worth ever again.

Sorry to say, but unless its an 05 gun then the resale on just about any gun is terrible.

The market is over-saturated. Only way really right now to up the market is to kill offany unused/unwanted guns. then the price might jump up again.

Why get a super nice marker for a fustfull of twenties when you can get something just as good for $200?

Im not even gonna bother selling mine. About $950 put in, but wouldnt sell for more than $200. Its just stupid.

Its a damn shame. BUT, its great if you love autocockers, like I do. Its a buyers market by far! I can shoot you out just as well with my E2 Ripper cocker as I can with the flavor of the month. And its got that custom style that you just dont see nowadays.

True! The secret to maintaining resale value is to specialize in the rare custom cockers. Between my Westwood, Twister, and Ripper I should say I am doing fairly well.

It's not stupid. It's reality.

If you put in all that money and don't want the marker, why should someone else?

That's really what it boils down to. Good resale means you're part of a minority that want's to have the newest and flashiest and those that want previously hot guns place a high value on the convenience of having an already tweaked marker.

The unfortunate reality now is that the majority of paintballers in the market for new markers want the newest and flashiest and those that appreciate a good marker for what it is already have one.

Yeah, the re-sale prices are crazy low for cockers, BUT I LOVE THEM I just got an e-bladed flame bodied Kapp cocker for 330 off of Ebay And I got a Ripper body with a box of enough parts to build to two cockers just a couple of weeks ago for 200 My collection is getting out of control....

I blame this on the Ion Smart parts evil marker that killed resale value on everything. You go get a nice 04 speed for like 700-800 or get a ion for like 280 and it shoots the same exept its plasticy.
