Wilkie of Destructive Customs put one on his DC FSP Viking, with Tadao, on full-auto and put a hopper through it at about 20bps -- not a single chop... It was pure mayhem as he was dropping them around bunkers and into the snake.

you should of showed how you can drop the ball in right behind a bunker now thats impressive... anyways Paintball Sallys in Paddock Lake WI has them for sale :-D and they really are nicet33kyboy "So if a cat is dropped from 11 inches, it will most likely die."Comment

I hate this barrel and hope its deemed tournament illegal very soon....
That being said it does everything it says it does, and does them very well. I played with one a bit at IAO as well. Its pretty easy to adjust, and it does get some cool - flat - long shots in addition to being able to curve and "adjust" the curve to where you want it. It works wonderfully, looks and feels well made, and does all it says it does.
That being said I don't like it being able to do it..."Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. Its not" - Dr SuessComment

Had a chance to use this barrel at my local scenario field a couple of weekends ago. It certainly was amazing & was the talk of the field both during and after the game. I was able to outshoot several regular A5 flatlines & was definitely more consistent on the long-range shots (without the danger of humidity & breakage of paint).
The reverse flatline effect was also great to have - I was able to turn the barrel upside down & walk several shots right on to people right behind bunkers. A "smart-gun" for paintball???? Maybe....and in talking about it after the game, we don't know how you'd be able to make this illegal, since the "Flatline" barrel does almost the same thing - and if every tourney player wants to have one, they can. And I imagine BT would have some things to say if NPPL or NXL tried to ban it.Comment

Does BT sponsor the PSP? Because as a general rule that is the only way you get say there or in the NXL - and you get a lot (think Dye jerseys). As to NPPL... I think they can, there call on it. And the flatline is not as adjustable, using it to curve around bunkers is not its intended purpose.
I have nothing bad to say about the function of this barrel - as I noted it does everything it said it would. Its a great piece of equipment. And one I really really do not like the prospect of having on field. This bothers me more than ramping (which I don't use) ever did."Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. Its not" - Dr SuessComment

Awesome video!
Nice to see people believing it now. So many people were skeptical at first.

Lohman, I can't really see this getting much use in Tourney ball except for the "flatline" and "ball drop" effects.
I mean, if you have it adjusted to shoot and dive left and somebody pops out on your right are you going to be able to hit them? I barely have time to turn and start firing at them, having to mess with a barrel would be rediculous. Even trying to compensate for the spin would put you at a disadvantage. I think that for slower paced games it would be fine, but serious Tourney ball and Woodsball (Yes they can play fast too.) players I think will eventually get over it and go back to their original barrels.
That being said they need to make on Phantom Threaded and I already picked one up for my Excal for the "Cool a new toy and it does neat-o things" factor.Comment

neat as it is... i think it has no place in the game. i don't think any sport should have a $120.00 equalizer on the field..Comment

So... aside from using it for exactly what it's meant to be used for, it won't be used for anything else?Originally posted by DuzzyLohman, I can't really see this getting much use in Tourney ball except for the "flatline" and "ball drop" effects.
I see your point though, but it could still be a back player's best friend.
But yeah... phantom threaded would ROCK!!!Comment

How often do you get in a snake and your movement is paused by the need to take out someone a couple knuckles down, or in that bunker they have defending the tape? Theres a few fields that I have gotten to the point that I know what bunkers to bounce balls off of to get other key bunkers. I could see this in a back or mid players hands, even a front player on the tape, being an awesome weapon. I don't like it for that reason."Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. Its not" - Dr SuessComment

Oh, I thought you were saying it was impractical.
I completely agree. I can't wait to get mine and mess around with it, but yeah... I honestly believe it needs to be banned from the tourney scene.Comment

A backplayer is supposed to keep people pinned down correct? Now every time he has to mess with the barrel he isn't keeping people pinned down which gives them a window of opportunity no matter how small to do something about said backplayer. At 200 mph a fraction of a second of distraction can cost you a game.
I honestly don't think it will take off in the Tourney scene. Now it hasn't been around long enough for me to make an accurate prediction but it is a gut feeling. I mean, look at the Q-Loader, you can shoot your gun from any position which I view as a tremendously cool as well as useful thing (I will not get into the "no more blimp on top of your gun" discussion because it never goes anywhere.) and I hardly see anyone using them.
Also, the flatline effect is cool, but at least with the A-5 and M-98 flatlines the shot group has been less than impressive. I don't have any experience with it myself but I have heard quite a few people complain that they bounce more at range as well. And the "Snake Bite" position is also really cool, but limited to shorter bunkers.
That being said, it is really cool and I can't wait to test mine out. But I really don't see a place for it in 5 minute games... At least not now.Comment

I'm thinking about all the times you have two players left in the back stand up that effectively cross... rather than trying to bunker one out, or being forced to snap with one you could bring up this barrel from the back, and have the time to adjust one in..."Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. Its not" - Dr SuessComment

Yeah, i definately hope this isnt allowed in tournaments. As neet as it is....it would almost call for complete re-desighn of all field setups if this thing got popular. Also, a reason why it shouldnt be legal other than the fact that i just flat out dont want it- ok, your shooting balls around a bunker, you cant actually see the guy your shooting at, so, i could definately see people just staying on the trigger untill they see the guy leave (which could result in people being overshot a ton) most of the overshooting i see done is when somone lobs shots over a bunker and shoots someone they cant actually see, because they just rip ropes that way not knowing if they have eliminated the player or not.Comment

Interesting point. But in my mind it would still be put to better use clearing out a Castle at someplace like... oh say...
