years messed up on my hydro tank, need help

i have a pure energy 68/45 witha 5 year hydro. my tank says 9 02, i know its a 2002 and its in sept. but how long do i have. my logic tells me i have 1 year left, i mean 2002, 2003,04,05, and 06. ive been told i have 2 years and ive been told i need it hydroed now because of some funky way to count the years. how much time do i have left?

Its potentially hazardous. Very few people understand what 4K (or even 1K) of pressure six inches from there head means.

think of the hydro date as a "born on" date. If you were born in Sept of 02, would you be 1 or 2 years old come Sept of 03? You'd be 1 year old. The tank is no different. When the tank is 5 years old in this case, it'll be in Sept 07... which is when it'll need to be hydroed.

I hope you're not implying that the tank cover would save you. If you are, I suggest you go look for pictures of a tank that's exploded and ask yourself if you want that next to your head.

Past that, any decent paintball field will be checking the hydro dates on the tank and won't let you fill it.

alright so sept 07 it is. when i said put the cover on it i meant to cover up the date and i meant id only do it once a few days past its date, i didnt think a cover would help me, just to cover up the date. sorry if i seemed like um.. idk how to put it but sorry if i seemed uncaring about what could happen?idk if u get that.

i have never played at a field that checks the hydro on all the tanks they fill. if you think about it, more than most people have a cover on their tank, and nobody takes them off to get it filled. so the tank is covered when it is filled, and the people filling the tanks dont take the time to take the cover off because there are other people in line.

i think hydro dates are something that is highly recommended and that the owner of the tank should know when it needs to be tested, not the field.

I understand what you're saying, RockTheRetroValve, but look at it this way. You now know you have TWO FULL YEARS to re-hydro your tank. You have no excuse not to have it done within this time. Also, keep in mind the month listed is for the first day of the month, not last. As of 12:00 AM September 1, 2007, your current tank will be out of hydro. As someone whom I KNOW is a responsible paintballer, I'm sure we won't have any problems with you trying to fill a tank that's out of hydro.
