    The Paintball Factory is CLOSED

Yup. The paintball factory in Garland TX is officially closed and out of business as of 9-1-05. No more indoor ball for me. That place was great, but I guess ppl just werent willing to pay more to play indoor.

I dont understand why they wouldnt just drop their prices and advertise more to try and get more business. Instead they charged pretty much the same amount until the very last day.

Im kinda ticked because I purchased a year season pass for 399 and I still have 4....nearly 5 months left on my pass that I BETTER get refunded for.

This royally blows. But, its a sad day for the ppl that went there frequently.

the field fee was 20 bucks all day air, and you have to buy at least 500 balls for about 20 bucks. But w/ the field fee, I got discounts on all proshop equipment and paint. I calculated that I have to go at least 20 times a year just to pay it off. I go every weekend though, so that is well over 20 times a year. And the discounts on paint helped out too.

Its indoor climate controlled, sup air, xball, the most amazing turf youve ever set foot on. Concession, music, great players. TX sucks for summer ball. 100+ degrees outdoors, uhh....I dont think so, not me anyway. Winter = rainy.

I heard about that place, but never got around to going. I've only ever been to that place by the Grapevine bridge with the huge lake. Extreme Adventure Sports, or something like that. Too bad, but I was never a huge fan of indoor.

too much overhead I guess. HEating cooling costs, not enough business. Etc. A couple of the ppl that run the place play on TX storm D1 NPPL ball. If you never went, you missed out. That place was great.

I think you are talking about Xdrenalin Zone right? I havent been there and it looks like Ill be going there if I want to play the kind of paintball I like to play.

What really bothers me though is the 150 bucks they still owe me for 4-5 months of my pass that I didnt get to use. I am entitled to it legally, and unless they have filed bankruptcy, I can get it back one way or the other. Even if I have to sue for it. I dont want it to come to that, but it may have to. I even said to them that they can give me 4 cases of paint and Ill call it even. No response. They dont even answer the phone.

Yeah, I think that's the name. It has three or four airball fields and some decent woodsball stuff. It's next to the huge lake. I was happily surprised by the professionalism of their refs and staff. Decent prices too. Maybe I'll see you there sometime. Although it seems like the planets have to be in some weird alignment for me to get to play these days.

hey man, sucks for the both of us. I'm out of a job.

And the reason no one is answering anymore is because wednesday was the last day we were ever open for play... I was even jumped by that... Tim just told me as he was leaving that we were closing.... so yeah.... heard it from him the day we closed....no warning or anything.

And yeah, all the assumptions as to why are correct. Too much overhead, not enough players coming in. The bills for utilities were mid 4 figures... ouch.

But yes, the X-ball field possibly will go to Fort.

I might migrate over to Adrenaline as well... at least to play for a while... might help out there if they need it....

As for paying you back. I really don't know how its working out with the paying back for stuff. But honestly... tim is already out 10K because people wouldn't come to play indoors for what is it, 5... $10 more than other places. THAT for the most part is what put tim on the street.

There'salso a thread somewhere in flag station that has a little more details than what i can type all out here...

Again im sorry man. I hate to see people loose their money. Seeing this place shut seriously made me cry the last timei left the parking lot. call me a weenie or W/E.... but I'm gonna miss the people, most of the players, and of course what probably was the finest looking fields that could have been started.

Only complaint is that all those TPF Ref's were lazy.

the refs wernt that bad, fort paintball refs are worse. GOD IM SO MAD/SAD, I heard from a friend when he tried to get his tank filled, and I didnt believe him. I tought it was some kinda stupid retarted mean joke. this is a sad day indeed, this was by far my favorite field and I doubt any feild around here will be able to compare. It was also 2 minutes away from me which made me happy but Id be willing to drive an hour to play at a field like this.

im distraught I dont know what to do now... I got so much better just because of the competition there, and now I cant... all the other field are all noobs with renals or their own spyders who think they are the bomb... :sigh: im just gonna go cry.

$20 field fee and all day air too? That is cheaper than the regular fields around Houston. Most of them are about $15+ for field fees and $10-15 for all day air too. I would have supported them with my business :)

ya, the zone is where Ill prolly be taking my business. Too bad its not close. I keep telling ppl that I want to build an indoor one in or near the mall in arlington. Its a central locatition, its hella busy around here, and I would charge a good enough price to make ppl want to come there instead of play outside in 100 degree temps.

Im going to fort in forney this sunday to practice w/ unbreakable. We were supposed to be practicing against epidemic at the factory on sunday morning until the bad news hit.

TPF wasnt that much more expensive. If you think about it. 20 bucks field fee and including air. And Saturdays after 4pm until 1030pm or until close you can bring your own paint and pay 10 carry on. Or they offered cases to me for 45 a case after 4.

And ya, I hear ya aliens about the competetion part. It sucks playing around here too. All the fields are way to easy. I kinda feel bad ripping ppls heads off at the local fields. Maybe the zone wont be like that though. Also, night ball at fun on the run is decent too. Notorious, Torn, and some other teams go out there. But thats a long arse drive for you.

Aliens and rather PM me. Ill give ya my cell phone and email and you guys can let me know when you are going to what field some weekend. Ill try to show up. Thatll give ya some competition.
