Sense I am kinda young, I don't have to pay rent/bills or any other expenses, how long would you say it takes to save up (or pay off...) an AO day?

Money wise, it depends entirely on your income.

Placating the wife before to allow you to go, and afterwards when the bills come in, is another story altogether.

Distance traveled, type of travel, your food intake and your alcohol intake are the most expensive parts of an AO meet. The cost of paint and field fees are usually very small. So, it all depends. I have spent upwards of $1500+ to go to some events such as Shatnerball.

For me the drive home wasn't bad beyond trying to stay awake. The drive up was trouble some due to some an accident or two and some construction in Toronto. Not to mention the confusing intersection and corkscrew road sign on the way Mayhem's place. All in all the drive was alot shorter and easier than I expected.
