    Plauged with injuries...

I have played paintball for many years w/o hurting myself beyond a scratch or bruise. I have been playing more competative ball recently as we gear up for the CFOA. Within the past 3 weeks I have had injuries every single time I play. In months pf previous practice I haven't had a single problem and all of a sudden I am finding every way possible to hurt myself.

I slid over an airball "tent stake" a few weeks ago and gouged my knee almost to the cap, all the way through my pads.

The very next week I slid my ankle over a stake and bruised/sprained/and nearly tore off the tendon running down the front of my foot. I had trouble walking on it for the better part of a week, and still can't run on it.

The same day later on, I was walking up the tapeline, turned to take a shot at the snake on the opposite tapeline and threw my back out. It was mildly painful for a week and then all of a sudden flared up last night to the point where I cannot move at all w/o excruciating pain.

I am hoping this is just a run of bad luck. My team is going to cover me in bubble wrap and bench me if this keeps up.

Your field should have covered those tent snakes as they make a safety risk (of which you have found twice). Talk to the owner, if he has any smarts he will realise it before someone receives a really bad injury, and perhaps sues the field.

Now the pulled back is due in part by your own fault. In every sport you must stretch before and after every day of play. If not you do not allow the muscles to be prepared for sudden movements, thus extending one of them and "pulling" your back.

Well sadly it sounds like you are pushing yourself as hard as you can go physically at this time. Welcome to your true 30's

Sad, but true. In my mind I am perpetually young. Unfortunately the clock is reading 35 at the end of the month.

My wife keeps telling me I need to pick up another hobby......I love paintball too much, even if it kills me, lol.

Well, first off I suggest getting pads because it sounds like things aren't going that well for you.

            Sorry for the terrible luck

That sound weird to anyone else? You severely hurt your foot, but continue to play with it... No offense, but it almost sounds like you're asking for more trouble.

I tend to injure my knees the most. I definatly need to get more limber. 18 years of skating will do that to ya though.

my knees hate me... i am only 15 and most of it is growing pains (about an inch and a half every 2 months or so...) but compeditave paintball every weekend crouched is hurtful. for some reason my favorite position is when im curled up on the lower right side of the bunker snapshooting.

and then again whenever you see me standing up you know you are dead.

You know how it is when you are pumped up, it takes a while to really feel the damage. By the time I hurt my back I had already slowed things to a walk.

if you hurt your foot in a game you dont feel it because adrennaline takes over. if you didnt know...
