    New look to my mag

My 12" CP barrel is coming (black), and i sprayed the body black, it fades to a dark maroon towards the back. The fade is bubbly, i think it looks great. I'll get some pics up later for you guys so you can say "WOW!!! that is pretty"

I got a few bubbles on it because of the bead blasted finish was making it kinda screwy, but it still looks good in my opinion. Fuel proof paint, its kind of flexible so i don't think it will scratch off to easy, and it will not chip. The only problem is that is kind of smells funny now...

I taped off the body rail and the holes so i don't have any problems with paint in the gun. The powerfeed was a pain trying to cover the little slots from the welding.

The smelly gun will match you because you never shower. Flame on.

i know when i sprayed my body that powerfeed is impossible to cover up. After about a year and a half my paint is starting to come off where the elbow goes. Im wondering does powercoating chip?

Powdercoating, if done correctly, will be very difficult to have scratch off and does not chip.

i had my mag powdercoated a little under a year ago, and i'm just starting to see tiny scratches where my elbow goes on the powerfeed. i guess i shouldn't tighten it that much?

yes i sprayed it. I used R/C fuel proof paint.

This paint is almost rubbery so it will not chip, but its not too hard to scratch.

I simply taped off the areas that i did not want to get paint on. The powerfeed was a real pain, i had to put a lot of tape inside of it and cover all the holes. It wasn't too dificult though, and it came out alright. If i hadn't sprayed too close (the nozzle is kind of gunked up on the can) then i would have these tiny bubbles. There are only about 10 tiny bubbles so its not a problem.

The fading was also pretty easy. I first sprayed the whole thing black, then held the can far away and went over once near the back, then twice at the end of the body tube. I should have a picture up later tonight, i hope my barrel will be there (come on UPS you can do it) to finish it off.

The standard grey isn't too appealing on the mags, i think thats one of their few downsides.

whoops, came home too late. The camera is sleeping in my stepdad's room WITH three barkoholic dogs, so i can't get the camera or computer right now. So tomorrow i will get some pictures.
