For all The Freestyle Owners, Need Info

Hi all, I just snagged a gen 2/ 04 freestyle. One of those deals you can't pass up. I dont know an damn thing about them really. Very easy to pull apart & maintain, almost magish. I did a couple searches last night but really didnt get the info I was looking for, so for me this is the best place to ask.

Here we go cant find anything in regards to aftermarket HE & LP kits etc. Need links.

Air usage real world numbers from peeps who have dealt with them. I'm guessing around 700 shots off a 68/3000???

Any & all info is helpfull. Thanks!!!

That link is the ICD AO

Vapor works makes good aftermarket parts
Doro Paintball also has good ICD ups

Will get more info later on and expect around 700-800 shots with that 68/3k

Go to the PBN Freestyle Forum and find the "Hitchhikers Guide to the Freestyle" sticky. It has a bit of good information.

efficiency - hawks bolt mod on www.icdunderground.net. there are no real aftermarket kits, hawk is an ICD tech. there was a diagram of an evolve bolt but its not out yet and its basically the same as hawks bolt. lp kits? it already is lp. you can tweak the efficiency by replacing the spring in the back of the HE bolt, but if its too heavy you wont be able to get your velocity high enough. its the same spring as an autococker valve spring. efficiency of the HE bolt kit is fairly poor, i (try to) fill after every game. i think the average on pbn was around 1000 shots off a 68/45.

one thing you might want to do now is drill out the screw holes on the solenoid a bit so the screw heads rest a bit lower. i had a problem with the screws stripping the manifold as only the tips of the screws catch the manifold. 3pac on AO had the same problem.

o-ring kits - fallNangel on PBN sells nice o-ring kits. http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.p...hreadid=816249 tell him i (slade17 on PBN) reffered you and he'll give you a 30% discount. he sells really nice kits for most markers. he offers x-ring kits too, but dont get them for your freestyle, they wont help. they might for other markers.

oh yeah, and use superlube. its cheaper than dow-33 and works better.

regulators - if you take apart the regs on your gun you can see that they arent designed too well. they work and are reliable, but have a very slow recharge. try swapping a sidewinder for the inline reg and an STD reg for the LPR.

if you have any questions, feel free to AIM me.

Thanks guys!!! To those of you that have had them a while .... Have you had any issues?? This one has a CP reg on it I know the first owner & he was in a hurry to hit a tourny so he pulled the stock reg, he said that the stock regs are fine but that they take a long time to break in. I have a palmers fatty that I can throw on depending how the CP works.

either the CP or the fatty will work well on the FS.

ive heard cp's are good. and yeah ive had just about every issue possible with my freestyle... its a good gun, ive just had bad luck. my first day with it the breech ended up getting clogged with sand. dont ask. i had the noid screws strip out, i had paint somehow get into the noid/manifold, i had an o-ring blow out of the noid (i took apart the noid to try to clean it when paint got into it, when i put it back together the screw eventually loosened to the point where an o-ring was no longer held in), and ive had a few other problems too. i still love my freestyle though ...just as long as it doesnt break down during tomorrow's tourney.

Freestyles are VERY easy to maintain. Just after each game, take it apart and clean and lube.

I highly suggest a nox board. I owned a chaos and its not as adjustable as the nox and doesnt have all the cool shooting modes.

Get the Nox Reloaded board , I picked one up because of some odd dwell dropping issues on my predator baord , and well never looked back the predator board is actually right now in the parts box...

Other than that , take off both regs , and throw them far far far away and never look back

The CP hpr reg works fine. Get a Nox Reloaded board from Knutec and if you can afford it send your marker to Hawk at ICD Underground for his solenoid replacement, HE bolt and lpr mod. You will have a gun that is better than the stock FS7's that just came out! My '05 works great. Just lube after every gameday and don't over do it. Superlube is the ICD factory recommended lube for Gen2's.
