A real Gun VS. Gun thread.

oh shudup with "go with whatever feels right," already!

Anyway, the team is throwing a 3 man rookie tourney. We need funds for XPSL next year.

Anyhow, 1st place team will get a set of electros. We opted not to give Ions for 1st place, for the simple sake of every other tourney out there gives out an Ion for 1st place. IDK, there is an insular nature about winning an Ion for 1st place.

Anyhow it has come down to the new ICD promaster vs The Defiant. Both have similar features and a somwhat "better" brand rep. At this point financially the Promaster would be the better choice. On the flipside the Defiant will probably darw a bigger tourney crowd.

Along with this we are planning to give out prizes through 5th place.

    What would you pick?

Also, any other midrange guns you would suggest?

...ever in the continual search of time dilation.

I like your idea of deviating from the standard (at the moment) of tourney prizes, and out of simple preference, I'd probably go for the Defiants.
You're right in the notion that it would draw abigger 'tourney' crowd, but there's also the Bob Long name on it. Anything Bob long is awesome--right?

Don't get me wrong though, i've had nothing but success with ICD produts, and I'd shoot either gun if I won them at a tourney

Make the 1st prize be a choice of the two. Winning team gets to pick between a set of promasters or a set of defiants, you get both crowds and they get the guns they want.

I think his point was that they can only buy one set of markers, there isn't enough money

Order the markers after the victory.

wouldn't they just go with the defiants?
bob long has a better known name for quality, and the gun costs 200 dollars more. they might just turn around and sell it after they recieve it anyway.

            maybe something to consider?

IDK, If you advertise the Promasters well enough, they might draw a crowd. Just list all their features, PDS, ramping, etc. They really have everyhting a defiant has.

No matter how evened up the two guns may be stats wise, people will always see the Defiant as a higher end gun. Lot's of people would look at the Defiant and crave one, but still think the promaster is so-so just because.

Yeah we thought about that. But, one of the greatest experiences about tournies other than winning, is collecting the prize after the match.

We've considered the fact a good number of teams will travel a good distance to earn these prizes. I sure wouldnet want to short change em by not having the prize there.

Although a giant novelty check would be pretty funny.

I believe that Defiants will draw a larger crowd, and you will be more able to recoup any investment lost...

                    Just my thoughts..
