i guess protos are just to bulky for me. and yes, the 06's are very nice. but i think this will out preform one. it has a 05 pred. board.( stock 06 proto)

I'm guessing that you got a really good deal on this gun...? I just think that the Protos are nicer looking--they actually look less bulky to me--and they are cheaper. However, I'm still shooting a Mag and I don't plan on changing anytime soon, so...

they are less bulky than a DM4. The 06 proto is 1.6 lbs. The DM4 is close to 3, and is like an inch taller, and an inch longer. And Dm4s have a midrise feedneck unless you get it milled, so it makes for a rather tall setup. They are nice and comfy to me though.

The proto is smaller than the DM. Its light, shoots about identical. You can get the board flashed to M5 for around 50 bucks, which is about the price of a chip for a DM4. The predator board is okay no doubt. The board doesnt make the gun shoot any different, it just adds different modes, adjustability, and speed. Its not going to make the guns feel any different. I like the M5 chip better than the WMD pred board. Thats my personal preference though.

I dont think your DM will outperform any other trix on the market w/ similar features. They pretty much all shoot the same since the DM4.

I was referring to a PM5. And no it won't perform as well as DM4. LPR is not as good, stock barrel is not as good, feedneck is not clamping, you can not simply get a chip for your board etc.

Please have some facts before you flame someone.

plus the 05 proto runs at 225psi and the 06 is around 185 like the DM4 and DM 5 are. Actually they are more like 170 or so psi, but they will basically shoot the same.

Board can be flashed to M5 for about 50 bucks, which is the same as buying a chip. Stock DM4s, 5s, dont have M5 either. Either way, its about 50 bucks. If you already have a DM4/5 chip, buy the UN1 board and put it in. The board is 44 + ship. Not that bad.
The clamping feedneck is a minus for the 05 proto, it shoulda had one. The gun is however smaller/lighter than the DM4, and w/ some mods and a new bolt, will shoot smoother than stock.

I still like the DM4 over the 05. The reason is that they offered all the stuff the 05 proto doesnt, and it came out a year later than the DM4.

06 is a major improvement. 1.6lbs, shoots around 185 psi or so, stock w/ LP back cap/boltguide. New noid thats a lot smaller, nicer milling, clamping feedneck, better LPR, etc. Stuff the 05 didnt have. shoots like a DM4/5 and weighs less than a shocker. Ill say thats pretty darn sweet. Thats why I had to get one.

you have fun trying to keep it running like any of my dm's did,my toxic trix, and like my dm6 will, i know the gun inside and out, front to back. if you have a matrix question, chances are im the one who will answer it.(you as in every one, not you specifically, as i do not help asshats)


yak, throw m7 in there, i highly reccomend it. lower your dwell to about 14, if not less, and have fun. since the added power boost to the solenoid is there, you will see more consistent chronoing, at a lower dwell. Probabally the best upgrade out there now. Also, id say polish your bolt, with that i wouldnt doubt a dwell time of oh lets say... 10-12. also, the new noid should be available for purchase soon, which would add another few balls a second, at that 10 ms dwell mark, you will have an insane marker.
