I stand behind warped. Im a sophmore also but I can take care of my stuff and not be dumb about it. There are kids in school that play woods, which im cool with.
Then there are the kids just with guns. They are stupid with them also. They just threaten to shoot you with them and allways talk about staking out at night then popping up and shooting people. Its so retarded.....
I value my gun, I bought it and I dont want the damn cops taking it from me.

Lot's of local highschooler's play at our field. With rules strictly enforced and sportsmanship emphasized they have become an asset to the game. It is this very age group that needs the most encouragement in developing quality character traits. What a mistake it would be to write them off. Santa Ynez Valley High School has just formed a school sanctioned paintball club team. With good adult leadership already in place these guys are going to get positive education in all aspects of the "sport" of paintball. I am a wholehearted supporter of this effort.

Just find some good friends and make them come play with you till they like it as much as you do... or just wear your jersey to school and see who all recognizes it... then start an un-official (as in noschool recognition or sponsorship... sorry). At least get it for a year, compete in some small tournments. Then use that to show your school that all of you are responsible (if you are that is
) and you might have a better chance or making it a club.
But then again... the only HS near me that had one was an all boy's private catholic school... I think it was kind of there to make up for the lack of women and individuality there.

I was having this conversation with my girlfriend the other day. She is a high school teacher and some times paintball player. Basically what she said was that a high school would consider a team if it was sponsored by a faculty member. So if you are serious about starting a high school paintball team your going to need to find a teacher who plays and/or is willing to act as an adviser to your group. Good luck.My school doesn't but im wondering if possible i could start a team. have any of you done that? i know its not just something i ask the school, and they give me a field with paint+air but its worth asking.

There are no highschools in the area that have a school backed team, there are many teams within the schools. My high school has a paintball club, theres probably 150 or so members and they get together and go play, but they play woodsball.

Ahem, I go to an all boys Jesuit high school thank you very much! There's more individuality, maturity, and personality amongst us than any of the public schoolers in the area. I also have managed to get a girlfriend. Who'd a thunk it, finding people outside of school?! People who can't seem to understand how we function without girls need to get out more. There are more places to meet people than school. In fact, I'd rather not go to the same school as my gilfriend. I'd be failing.Originally posted by RatherBut then again... the only HS near me that had one was an all boy's private catholic school... Anyways, that being said, I'm actually in the process of creating a team for my school. I spoke with our new principle (not a monkey's behind like the last guy), and I'm filling out the paperwork. One of the teachers used to date a Lockout guy, and she has agreed to moderate. You definitely need to be mature and well-spoken when you go up to the administration of your school. Look presentable and think about what you're going to say first. If possible, plan out your speach with someone who is acing english. I'm glad I, an AP english student, made the proposal to our principle and not my friend who is barely passing regular english.
It also depends on who you're talking to and how well they like you. My principle knows and likes me and he's a nice guy with an open mind. The last guy was a close-minded priest whom I have no respect for. Yes that's right, we aren't a bunch of good little Catholic boys. Jesuit education has actually been one of the key components in my decision to pretty much seperate myself from religion. Anyways, act mature, speak intelligably, and be aggressive in a polite/respectful way. Good luck.

I coach a high school team for the Jr. high and high school I work for. Like refugee said, If you can get a Staff member to run the team, some schools will support the team.
Private schools have a much greater chance at getting a team then public schools. Unfortunately it all depends on how the school staff and district views the game. If they see paintball as a war game, forget it. Good luck!

I said most, maybe you're the exception. I'm sorry if you're offended, wasn't meant that way and I even said that.Originally posted by yingyangHey warp I take offense to that, Im a sophmore in high school and my freinds and I are very responable with our markers and take in saftey very heavily. Not all of us are a gaint sterotype.
I t wasn't safety that was the issue, it's that most teen/preteens emulate the pro jerks and play like that in walk on games.[Something Cool is Here]
