Shipping rip offs

Okay some background, I live in Guam a territory of the US. And Yet when it comes to shipping I still have to pay international shipping rates. WTF
SUCH AS:
How can a $77, order be charged over $100 for shipping. Thats gouging. And how come some companies wont even ship to Guam, when we are even mentioned on the damn US passport.

All I want is a damn blue Halo shell and Delrin drive cone. we need a middle finger smilie

??? That is a bit steep. I shipped a 3/4 of a pound package off to the UK from the west coast & shipping was about $32..

at least they arent stealing your mail...... i often get things shipped to central mexico and they steal things while "inspecting" every box........

maybe it has something to do with guam being an island on the other side of the pacific ocean...


first everything has to cross the pacific once to get to the US from China.. then it has to cross all the way back from the US to guam.

Why don't you get someone on the west coast to buy the parts for you and ship them on the post office? If you are correct in what you are saying, it would have to be chaper.

That last part is kinda irrelevant. I think he's only talking about buying something in the US and then having it shipped to Guam. He wouldn't have to pay for the shipping to the distributor in the states (though the product would be a seasoned traveler by then lol). I do however agree that the distance to Guam from the states and the fact that it's an island would have a lot to do with the insanely high shipping costs. I can understand his frustrations though, that would suck...

first, check to see what the shipping rates would be from california to guam. i dont know if you have a ZIP code over there or not, but thats an easy way to check approximate shipping costs. i'm sure someone might do it for like 20 bucks then have you pay them back for shipping or something.

Do they use the U.S. Postal service in Guam? If so use them, you should get a much better rate.
I sent an A5 to Hawaii and UPS wanted $90.00, I went to the post office and sent it for $30.00

hmm, well it really doesnt help to complain about where you live and their monopolistic shipping charges to get you stuff...of course the downfall of the pneusmag or the AGD terminal illness doesnt help to complain either...this fits right in with everything else ppl complain about around here so GREAT POST!!!
