my gear usually sits in my bag untill a day or 2 before a tourney, then i wipe it all down and lube it all. at the end of each day of play though, i wipe it down, and clean the barrel/breech if need be.

my playing gear on the other hand...that usually sits in my bag between practices, usually aquires some pretty funky smells, but i wash it before tourneys.

I keep my equipment clean by not playing. Once in a while I might blow the dust off.

With my 'Mag, I used to take it apart and completely clean it after every day of play. It make sure all paint residue was wiped off, etc. I would also take it apart the day before I play and oil it once more. Then I saw I did not need to do all this cleaning, so I would just put some oil down thw ASA. I only take it apart when I am bored.

With my Viking, all I will do is wipe off the dirt and paint and a few drops of oil down the ASA.
Hey, look at that! It's Santa!

When I get to play (which is oh so few and farther and farther between), I try to keep my stuff wiped down between games, if for no other reason than I hate getting pulled for a five game old hit that I left setting on my hopper.

When I'm done, I'm usually tired and sore, so I just dump everything, change clothes, and veg.

Then in a day or two I come back and tear everything down until I can get to every dirty spot. If that means that the marker comes completely down, so be it. If the HALO has paint between the shells, it comes apart and gets cleaned.

Nothing pisses me off more than dirty gear. I think it's from years of working on gunked up markers that customers send in. I always though you cleaned your marker BEFORE you sent it in to be worked on. Oh, no.

Anyway, I am one with the Qtips and the beach towels. I have gallons of synthetic air tool oil, and I buy Dow 33 and 55 by the caulking tube. If it's in my gear back, you will always know two things about it for sure. 1) It will work when you turn it on/gas it up. 2) It will be clean when you pull it out.

I do what your other teammate does. Clean all my gear religiously after a day at the field. I even wipe it off during play at the field. I dont like dirt/paint spots to sit on my ano for long. I clean my gogs frequently while playing and give them the nice wash when I get home and get them looking brand new. I clean my barrels, my unimount, my gun, check the eyes, clean it up w/ qtips if need be. Rub gun oil into the ano and wipe off excess. I check my battery before I go out the next time, but I always keep a stock of fresh batteries on hand. I dont bother checking my settings unless its acting up as they stay where I put them.

I used to meticulously clean all of my gear after each day(except for those cracks in the mask where paint always gets stuck).
Now if i use my mag i just make sure the outside is clean, and make sure there is no paint or dirt on the inside(don't actually take the gun apart everytime now, then i might put a few drops of oil in.
for my phantom i will take it apart and clean out everything.
on the rest of my guns, i just wipe them down and if they shoot i leave them alone.
since i now have a profiler on the way i will completely clean it after each use.
and i always wash my clothes after each day.

i generally take crap care of my stuff, until a big tourny. I dont mind if the gear breaks down for pratice, as its good pratice to clean it and get my butt back on the fieldf ASAP; because eventually a marker will fail on you at a tourny no matter how clean it is and being able to fix it fast is good. However i clean and test the crap out of all my toys the night before a tourny, mostly because i cant sleep much those nights anyway.

Eh i like talking them apart almost as mutch as shooting em.

I usually COMPLETELY strip both markers when i get home a lube em. I also wipe off old lube and re lube again befor the next play. Im also known to pull em apart on random for the hek of it and clean and lube em for practie LOL.

I basically have two markers at a time and always clean both at the same time while i have all the stuff out. Although im considering getting a third soon and expect too do it with the others.

I actually prefer cleaning my tippy pro/carbine as i have had it for SOOOOOO long than i know it pretty well. just need two allen keys and you can take it right down to nothing. Also if yo just need to lube its rwal ewasy as you just drop som oil from the top onto the front bolt and rear hammer then a couple drops in the ASA for the valve and your done. ITs FULLY lubed in less than 30 secs.

well, JUST got back from a day of play

                        - what i did
-rolled gearbag/carried stuff into my room, dropped everything in its designated corner, threw the clothes in the wash, took a shower. Now i just took the batteries of of my halo to charge (use rechargable 9v's). Thats it.

The viking has never gone down on me, hasnt chopped paint in...well, i cant even remember, probably more than 30 cases ago (and today EVERYTHING was breaking the field paint being used, shockers, dm4's, dm5's, dm6's, protos, timmys, EVERYTHING was blowing up the paint, i didnt have a break all day, i love my marker). So, i dont really clean the eyes, i may wipe the marker off before i toss it in the gearbag, but, thats about it. I just drop some oil in the asa and dryfire when i get to the field, thats all the matinance ive ever done on it, and thats all it needs to stay in perfect working order.

on the other hand- you mentioned settings, i did play with the settings a TON when i initially got the marker, got everything perfect so it shoots like a dream.

Regardless of if I'm playing or not, everything gets air and oil every two weeks. Even in the cold dark of winter. I'm in my garage on Saturday afternoon...

When I play, I'm always the last to leave the field, because I'm at the Chrono station or target range, with oil and air, ensuring that everything get's what it needs. I hate having to take a marker out of the case and something is wrong with it. I'd rather not sacrifice a day of play because I'm too lazy to oil and wipe things down.

Oh, yeah, since I shoot mags, I don't have to mess with dwell or HPR or LPR or that BS either.
                          I went like this :shooting:
He went like this :tard: then like this :wow: then like this
Now he shoots a Mag too...

I tend to get a bit obsessive cleaning my guns, Like after playing with them i will meticulously clean them and pull them apart relube them and reasemble. As for my other gear i just through my clothes in the washer and wipe everything else off.

After a days worth of play i end up hosing all my clothing and gear on the front lawn with water. After that all my clothing goes into the washer and dryer. My gear on the other hand eg; mask, mag, pods, pod pack, etc. get a very rigorous washing and cleaning. My mag is tore down to its bare bones, each piece being washed and lubed(every single piece of grip is removed in between the screws and so fourth). The body gets a wash with a very mild soap and after that all the main exterior pieces (frame, rail and body) get a polish job with meguires. The grips on the frame are washed and scrubbed with a mild soap and water combo along with my mask. Each one of my pods gets the same treatment with a mild soap, water and brush treatment and so does the pod pack. The tank i have is wiped down and all the small pieces of dirt and grit are removed. Basically overall my gear looks brand new after a days worht of play

i used to baby my equipment, and it ALWAYS breaks on me. From now on I am not going to bother anything unless it breaks. I am tired of breakign stuff down, cleaning it, wiping it, washing it, only to see it break down the next week.
