Woodsballers take 1st in Tourney - and me with my Mag

Thought you guys would be interested - my home field, www.oapaintball.com (Outdoor Adventures) has been putting on these "Almost Free - 5 Man Tournaments" for the past year, as a means to bring some of the sportmanship back to the tourney scene (no prizes, only trophies, and only a $50.00 entrance fee per team).

Myself, some Carter's Commandoes, and a couple of teammates put together a team - using about 1/2 mechs & 1/2 electros against 20 other speedball teams. As you can see from the pics, we certainly didn't go in looking like one of the typical teams. I don't think the competition knew what to make of us - and yes, there were some smirks & laughs from the other side.

Long and short of it, we won 7 out of 8 games (combined score 472 out of 540) and we won all three games in the finals (169 out of 180). So, the team of "Welease Woderick" (10pts for guessing the reference) takes 1st Place!

Left to Right (Top): Don (Muffin Man) - Ion, Lawrence (Lone Wolf) - Mag, Justin (Jincay) - Blazer

(Bottom): Chad (De Jesus) - Defiant, Zach (Phantom) - Impulse, Mark (Yellow5) - Angel

That's me - top middle. I switched to my classic, black body mag for the tournament - I don't think I had to shoot more than 700 balls through all ten games. We were at the 50 before most of the other teams had even gotten placed at their first bunkers.

The tourney had a combo of two airball fields (one with a car wash & the other a more standard layout) and one hyperball field. There were two divisions of 10 teams & the top two teams in each division went to the finals. We outscored every team in both divisions & even had one game where we got the flag hang with a live player on the other side (Jincay's Blazer crapped out at the last second during the final run & I didn't get a chance to eliminate the last guy before the flag got hung - haven't seen that happen too many times).

Congrats! Woods Ball or Speedball, always play for fun and with honor and you can't go wrong. Sounds like you guys did just that. Thanks for bringing honor onto the
          speedball court.

The COMPLETELY bizarre part is we actually managed to win a game or two. Boy I feel bad for the people we managed to beat, the grief they must have suffered...

Who are you trying to kid here? You couldn't have possibly won shooting some Mags on your team and we all know that nobody shoots Mags anyways, especially not in tournaments.
