What happened to GOTM

As the topic says what happened to the GOTM. It happened last month but not this month and I wanted to enter. If I can find the old post I will try to set one up with out prizes again. I really want to enter.

I'm not completely sure, but i think it is because some months someone will be willing to run it, and some months people won't

I finally got a gun good enough to put in so I really want to. I know I have no choice of winning but it would be nice.

i'll tell you what happened in one word. "ION". Ppl started posting their "agg" ions and being that ions and mag owners are like antifreeze ad dogs, flamewars began and whatnot

In a nut shell...people complain about the judges picks for GOTM.
No mags ? Complaints from the AGD fans.
No other markers? Complaints from the non AGD fans.
Then there is the group that just complains to do it..no real point at all.
Complaints about there NOT being prizes.
Complaints about the prizes that were given. ...You get tthe idea.

Under ideal conditions , Yes I agree GOTM IS NOT HARD TO RUN. UNDER IDEAL CONDITIONS.

As a past judge, I got tired of reading all the complainers 2nd guessing my choices.
In this kind of thing it is pretty much an OPINION based judging .
Meaning...each judge picks those markers that please HIS/HER eye and particular tastes.
BUT, non judges felt the need to rip on the judges picks and then the sewer of opinion bubbled up from there.
I can only imagine what it was like for the guy running it.

I got tired of doing a bit extra and getting dissed for my efforts.(And reading other judges get the same treatment)
Granted it wasn't much extra but...I still felt it to be a task to look at each enterants marker...see what all was done to it, compare it to past markers , unique work done to it...etc. I DID take it seriously and I think I was as fair as humanly possible in my choices.
Again..MY opinion.

well, if I recal correctly....GOTM was run a couple times AFTER those complaints and there were no more complaints for those 2 runs. So why complain about complaints that didnt even exist for the last two runs? Doesnt it seem ironic that you are complaining about complainers.

and the reason ppl complained is because the judges were picking guns not worthy over guns that were extremely nice, rare, and worthy. It had nothing to do w/ ions either. I think it was more like plain emags selected over something like spartans 1 of 2 custom milled/anodized viking that took a year to complete. OR rkjuniors viking. Need I say more. PPl spoke their opinions and it was taken as complaining.

Im done running gun of the month, i ran it last month and there were no complaints at all. Id run it again, but with upcoming projects ive ben hired to i dont have the time any longer. Anyone its yours. Just contact me ill help you get started.

hmmm coolhands ule beat out my custom anno, one of a kind tunamax? hmm yeah kinda shady, my babys all ule and cnc with a karta set up and custom dust blk anno, and it gets dissed by a ule? there were very nice markers in that last gotm and just cuz coolhand wanted to show off his new frame..he won..ohh a new frame...and so what? he had no great anno, the color scheme didnt even work, and he won? why cuz half of the voters posted that he would do there frames first if he voted for them, yeah?? i wont run anymore...i kno my mags one of the hottest on this site....if every 1 wants to hump coolhands leg, that ur own problem

His had the ripper frame, and has also ule. Your gun, and his gun both were very cool. Im sad that the dm4 or whatever was on there instead of your gun.
