arman your going to have to live with the fact that there are a lot of people who dont care if iran is not arab. to put it simply i can really only pick out 4 or 5 different ethnic influences on appearance around the world. if its the middle east its arab. do we really want to hear the canadians here complain when they are mistaken for americans?

i think the elf in the book fellowship of the ring put it best (this is not an insult) "to sheep other sheep no doubt appear different". the point is from the outside it all looks the same, no matter how much it offends you.

for these same reasons people connect paintball with training to kill. it looks the same in many ways. you have to explain the differences slowly. its not their fault for thinking that way though. its the way our brains work to simplify our world.

OK folks, just want to spell something out...

We have rules you see on our forum. We, well AGD, pays for the software, the servers, and for me and the guys at Delaware.net to keep it up and running. Therefore, it is not a truely public forum, we own it and control it. Fair enough. If you dont like that, by all means start your own forum.

Because this site is used to help hold a relationship between the consumer and AGD, we try to maintain a level of profesionalism. You wouldnt go into your local paintball store and start cussing and insulting other people in the place, would you? If you did, I bet there would be some reprocussions.

We have some pretty clear cut rules. We dont allow certain things because they are offensive - thats why we dont allow you to make fun of a persons race, nationality, sexual orientation, or sex.

We also DISCOURAGE certain topics, such as religion and politics. Mainly because they are a hot bed for disputes and we simply do not want that here. If you feel the urge to discuss religion or politics, there are HUNDREDS of other forums on the net to do so. I encourage you to see them out.

We keep it clean, we keep it fair. If you cant play that way then find another forum please.

Don't be an idiot. At some level, it may be political (flying it over a federal building), but its also just a flag for the south. The war is long over, and I don't think that team intends to rise up and take over the north. To them, its a symbol of pride in where they live, and thats all.

Every flag is technically political. Stop trying to cause problems.

I have but one question, "Who cares?" This was definatley an issue between 2 dweebs and Arman, who I think is right in being upset for being racial sluerred, but also I dont believe that that He should have Hitler in his sig. Thats a double standard. Granted he isnt spouting Hitlers beliefs but its still an issue that should be dealt with just the same, And you can do something about your sig, delete it redesign it and insert Barney there, Everybody hates him, so we all would be in agreement on that. Their team name is Team Dixie Reign. What would you have them use for their logo? That is certainly not done to intentionally hurt someone, like changing your signature around because someone said they were of jewish origin. I mean that would be idiotic to say the least. hint, hint. But alas, this is an open forum and idiocracy seems to run rampant sometimes.

Ok - stop it. You aren't using any logic there. If you read a book about the Civil War and saw the Confederate battle flag, then you are seeing that flag in a historical context.

If you see that flag in someone signature with a hooded man saying, "You wear your X, I'll wear mine." Then that flag is being used as a symbol of hate.

Having the confederate flag on AGDs site is NIETHER of those - it is simply in the BACK GROUND of a tournment winner pic! In this case its for where the event was held, and that field uses that flag in their logo.

So in this case, AGD is not endorsing anything, promoting anything, or even trying to bring up the issue. It is simply in the back ground! It is not a double standard. Only someone with a twisted sense of logic could claim that!

I am not going to argue with people on this. I will not make the forum some sugar coated "puppies and bunnies" politically correct forum. At the same time I will not tolorate bigotry, racisim, and being mean to one another.

Everything has a context.

So - let me make this clear, I wont be pushed on this. Do not be making statement that break the rules. You will be banned. Do not engage in threads that threaten to lead to breaking the rules.

We have and do allow threads on poltics and religion - but they nearly ALWAYS degrade to flame wars and are deleted.

One more thing - I dont know exactly what is going on, but the buzz is someone wanted hitler or swasika in thier sig? Please dont try it.

The swatika was one of the oldest and most widely used sybmols know to man. It was used as an ornamental design in the art deco movement, a spritial symbol by the Navaho and other native american tribes. A symbol of piece and good luck to the people of India and Middle east. And it was a Christian Cross.

Now it is associated with a Facist, Totalitarian party who stripped away the rights of its people, and systematically imprisoned and executed millions for thier religious beliefs and nationality. Like it or not, but the thousands of years of having the swastika being a good thing, was ruined by the Nazi party, as it is now a symbol of hate.

You may have personal beliefs that differ. I know that some people admires Hitlers powers of persuation and his skills as a leader. Others look at Hitler and the Nazis from a historical standpoint. But, Nazi regalia, like KKK regalia, will not be tolorated.

No. You are correct it is not. Never was. The one you see above is actualy one of many "Battle" flags used by some of the Confederate troops. It much later has been adopted as a symbol of white supremacy movement and KKK for other purposes it was not intended to represent. That is why it is now so much more controversial than it was when it was used for it intended purpose. And why we should accept that fact that these persons have userpt it to mean something that may offend some people. And I for one respect that and acknowledge that.

Some of you may note that in my state we have just removed flying this flag above out State House capital for that very reason. In our case that Flag had never flown over the Captial of SC until the Civil War centenial and was supposed to be taken down the next year. However it remained for many years and divided a lot of our folks here. I supported the removal of it because some people whom I do not wish to be associated with have bastardized it as a symbol of hate that I do not agree with. Its not the Flag so much itself but the people who use it as their symbol. So I do not fly it or allow it to be displayed in my home or on my vehicles. Simple respect for those who may take it wrong. Its not very hard for me to do.
