no thats not new at all. they came out in 2003. Id suggest finding one used, because they go for under $400, with a lot of upgrades. Very very solid guns though, theyre fast, quiet, super easy on paint. only problem really is that theyre huge and heavy. They shoot great though. (provided you set it up right that is, mostly getting the pressures right)

Man... why not just get a "dye" proto matrix? You could probably get a used proto in the 500 area... much nicer.

do not get a dm3, especially a new one.

Go with a 05 proto matrix, much better guns. Great all around, small, light, quick, eyes. Lot of goodie parts if you want them. You will not be disappointed.

I just picked up a dye trix, eyes, orange bolt, unimount, hyper 2, dye mini lpr thingy, for $310 shipped. Sent the MO out today Buying new is a major waste. But if you have under 400, you can find a nice older trix with a ton of ups, over 500 just get a stock proto 05.

Older may be heavy, and bulky, but they are great performers. Personally I don't want to be the average whiney baller who complains about markers being too heavy and crap like that. It's all very minor imo and so I just saved a bunch of money by getting an older trix compared to newer markers. They are very solid markers and are super smooth.

EDIT... in fact... I just bought it from Torbo who posted a few post above me...

I wasn't gonna buy it, I just had a interest in them and wanted to find out a little info on them since theyre popular, or as so it seems. I have been looking at the 05 proto, i like that alot. That is the gun i would get, neither of them new, well maybe the proto. I was just using that link as an example.

I just picked up a freeflow matrix with all freeflow parts for only 300$.

Its fast. It has no kick. Super easy on paint. Its not as heavy as everyone makes it out to be. I haven't had a chance to test efficentcy yet.

its not that is is heavy......that whole arguement is bs. If you had to spend $500 why wouldnt you get the ebst for the money. If looks/weight are better, not to mention the entire gun, why not get the newer one. The dm3s are blocks, which can wear on you over the course of a day. They are not much to look at either. But if you do not care then whopeeeee for you.

A DM3 is a superb marker. Especially given what you can get one for nowdays.

They are a bit big, but not particularly heavy. Actually the mass helps keep the marker from rocking around in your hand. Makes for exceptional accuracy.

They are really easy to work on and parts are readily available.

Get one, you won't regret it.

$749 seems steep to me, since the Proto is like $799ish.

You can find stock protos used for 450 fairly easy if you look a little. I went with just an older dye trix over one because the frame on protos feels a bit thin for me, and I honestly don't care about a little weight savings, and I saved money, so I'm happy.

That said, used 05 proto's can be had for killer prices and are lighter and smaller, so most people will probably like them more.

I don't like buying used anymore. Too many problems. Plus I'm in the process of opening my pb store.
