    Indoor playing fields

Here in Toronto we now have four indoor playing fields.

One field uses an earth/sand mix for the playing surface. One uses a type of gravel and one uses a carpet like material. The newest one is advertizing astro turf. http://www.torontopaintball.com/foru...howtopic=19085

Over the years I've played in three of the four and found my dislikes as follows. The dirt/sand sticks to your clothing and gets all over your marker.

The carpet gets way to slick and you end up sliding all over the place.

The gravel mix has turned into a clay like slurry that I just cant play in at all.

What playing surface do you find works well for traction and is simple to keep clean?

I like natural grass best. Cant ever go wrong with with what nature perfected.

a few years back my high school paintball club were developing plans for an indoor paintball course due to prolonged ****ty weather. After alot of research and help from other paintballers it seemed that if grass was not a possibility then your 2nd best best was to either put cardboard peices around the areas of heavy paint like the bunkers so you can just exchange them when necessary. We were also told that saw dust is very practical. We ended up finded it too costly with money and time even though we were not paying rent on the warehouses. It just was not worth it and was not practical at all.

a new place here just opened an AMAZIN' indoor field..... theres one right down the road thats been there for a while and hasnt done too good because of the astroturf bieng more slick than ice and no way to clean it.....makes for more than a few painfull looking falls..... this new field had the genieus to use woodchips! when they get dirty they bring in a skidsteer and clear it out! i think this is a great idea because this is in the middle of the woods and they have an almost endless supply of woodchips!

Man those paint prices are ridiculous!
            Paint Prices
            Renter $15 per 100 or $240 per 2000
            Owner $10 per 100 or $150 per 2000
            BYOP $10 per 100 or $80 per 2000

Not to self; NEVER PLAY THERE

              /most places lie about prices
// most places also make the price look LOWER to attract more customers
              ///scaring away customers maybe?
////if noone shoots then cleanup might tend to be easier....

Remeber thats all in CANADIAN Funds (you know that funny coloured monopoly looking stuff thats worth $0.87 US).

Still Pricy but Paintball in general in Canada is more expensive than in the US as is everything.

The turf Atomix uses at their field is the best I have ever played on. I prefer it over natural grass.
