      setup- 9oz. tank and a 200rd hopper

Have had some other guns, but will have to think on them.

        SEMIS:

        Freestyle V7

Fast, reliable and sexy. Maintenance is a breeze, takes less than 2 minutes and no tools. Comes stock with a multi-mode limited predator board. Very reliable and easy to play with. Lightweight.
Efficiency still isn't the greatest (1100 shots/fill), it requires a breakin period, the stock HPR isn't fantastic, the board is capped at about 15-20 although it's definitely sufficient and it's *slightly* larger and heavier than previous generations. It kicks more too, although not a ton. You must lube it every day. There is an HR-1 bolt upgrade available that lowers pressures, increases efficiency and eliminates kick.
All around a great gun, especially for the price. Available now for $650 with the HR-1 kit, add a little more for a NOX board and a reg and you've got a killing machine that can take any $1400 gun.

        ---------------------------

        04 Gen-2 Freestyle

Stock this gun is not that great. At the time, I put a couple upgrades on it and had a good gun for the price, sans the crappy efficiency. With a Chaos board and new regs it was super, super fast - like 27BPS. Unfortunately it's a little *****y, you have to juggle the regs a bit, and the regs aren't very good. The stock board sucks and is in no way adjustable. There are some flow problems with the solenoid gasket, and HE kits sometimes lead to problems because the solenoid can't handle the higher pressures it requires. You must lube it every day, and you need an allen wrench to get inside of it. It should be noted that for $200, Hawk's mod will update the whole gun to the V7 platform which makes this gun very very good - good efficiency, speed, reliability, etc. It upgrades the solenoid as well.
All in all, you can find one cheap these days upgraded, and is a good gun for the price although not without its issues. With the Hawk mod it is excellent, but that is $200 more.

        -----------------------------------

        2k2 Dye Ultralite Minicocker

This was not the best cocker for the price. The pneumatics are crap. The bolt, while cool, is not replaceable unless you mill the back block. The body was gorgeous, though, and it comes with a matching Ultralite.
It worked well enough (except for the leaky 3-way) as a mech gun, and I was happy with it. However, when I put a 3-way on it everything went to hell. The stock hammer got chewed to pieces. The LPR overpressurized. The ram was just plain slow. The stock bolt was too heavy to make it cycle really fast. I literally upgraded every internal and pneumatics part of the gun except for the valve and it was a killer cocker after that... but I'd spent $1500, and it was still a cocker. Cheaper, better options were on the market by then so I sold it (I still miss it sometimes).
Now they're cheap on the used market. If you want something fun to play around with, than this isn't a bad idea... but I'd never make it a main gun... too fidgety these days compared to what else is out there.

        --------------------------------

        2k2 cocker (no picture)
Stock WGP cocker. Gave me no problems, was fun to play with. It was what made me decide to get the Dye cocker, I decided I liked cockers better than mags after using both for awhile. Very easy on paint, and has the hypnotic back-block action.
They will cause problems if you tinker with them, but if you don't tinker with them, the worst that'll happen is they'll need a retiming every year or so. Actually was a low-maintenance gun, and I enjoyed it. I actually like the slider trigger better than the hinge. These guns are available CHEAP on the market (under $100 if you look) so I'd recommend it just as a novelty. I enjoyed having mine, but it's not a gun that competes these days.

        --------------------------------

        Tippmann 98 Custom

Everyone knows these... super reliable. Don't take it apart; it's a ***** to put back together. No problems with it. The flatline SUCKED though. No accuracy at all. Good noob woodsballing gun but I'd never bring one onto the speedball fields around here.

        -------------------------------

        Minimag

Cool gun, I could nail anyone with it, and it shot nicely... but it chopped like a sonofa*****. I don't know why. I think I actually had a faulty breech that caused bad feeds. It was in the days before level 10 so I sold it.
Not competitive these days, but uber reliable (although it chops without level 10)

        AutoMag 68 Classic (not pictured)

Same deal as the minimag, except the only reason I'd get paint everywhere was because I ran this one on CO2. DID NOT LIKE CO2. Even with a good expansion chamber, and a remote. I can't recommend this without compressed air... and if you get compressed air you can afford a more competitive gun. Old gun, doesn't really cut it these days but I was awesome when I owned it.

        ------------------------------------

        PUMPS:

        Phantom

Stock, it's a great pump. Upgraded it's even better. The stock barrel is fantastic, stock efficiency is very good (about 30 shots per CO2 I believe) and the gun comes in all sorts of configurations. The pump is easy and pretty smooth, the velocity is adjustable down the barrel, consistency is usually very good (although mine is a bit jumpy), and accuracy is second to none. The gun is very lightweight and portable.
I found an old All-American barrel for mine which hurts efficiency (but I don't care, I use a 9oz CO2 tank which is more than enough for a day of play) but makes accuracy even better, and cuts the sound down to nearly silent. You can snap like a mother effer with this thing, it's so light and easy to aim. Very smooth pump stroke, also has an autotrigger. Vert stock class is godly... even more lightweight than before and a blast to play with. It doesn't break paint very often and it's a joy to shoot. There are configurations and prices ranging from $170-350 new; all of them are great but I do suggest either getting a CA DF setup or a VSC setup. I'd go with the more expensive .45 frame no matter what you get. I picked my phantom up on the used market for $100 and upgraded it.
This is my favorite pump, I cannot recommend it enough.

        ----------------------------

        Splatmaster

Vintage... fun gun to run around with. Surprisingly accurate. Very cheap fun.
Old, old gun. Pain in the butt to take apart, things go flying. Made of plastic. Balls only get about 220 FPS, maybe 250 if you stretch/harden the spring and put washers behind it. But what do you expect?
This is a fun plinker, but more of a collector's item than something I'd want to compete on the field with.

        -----------------------------

        Not pictured:

PGP 2k1 - the latest PGP revision, I have six of them. Small and compact so you can run around with them quite easily... for its size it is fairly accurate (although hard to hit anything). It is pretty efficient (better than 30 balls per co2 cartridge). Built like a tank and not too hard to disassemble. The new features like adjustable velocity, fast changer, speedgate and fiber sites are very nice. Very reliable.
Downsides: They are a bit difficult to pump, which I imagine gets better as they get broken in. Impossible to aim and shoot something very well due to the weight, the fact that it is such a short barrel and stiff trigger... is heavy for a pistol because it's made of brass, but that's no big deal. These tend to break paint more than earlier PGPs. I can't recommend it in the price range unless you really like the idea of a tiny pump pistol. It is reliable, and it is a tank though.

        -------------------------------

        Sniper II
This was my stock 2k2 cocker with a pump kit on it. Worked fine, no issues there... fun and accurate. I've shot many snipers and built several since then. They are solid guns. Honestly, between this and a phantom it just comes down to preference. They are both pumps but feel completely different. I like the Phantom better, it's more lightweight, has an autotrigger and is more customizeable... but the sniper has nicer pump stroke and is fun to play with. Good guns.

        -----------------------------

        PMI-1 DF / Sheridan P-12
I have it listed as both... technically it's a P-12 but it's the same gun either way.
It's cool... mine has a crosman stock on it and is Direct Feed but uses 12 grams. A fast change plug is nearly necessary, otherwise it takes FOREVER to change a CO2 cartridge. The pump stroke is cool, although a little tough. Adjustable velocity is not stock, but all sorts of mods are available by Palmer's. The gun is tough as nails and reliable. Very accurate as well.
Efficiency leaves a bit to be desired, most users report 20 shots per CO2 or less. It's a bit heavy. All its little characteristics have added up to annoy me a bit. It's a really cool gun, though. I got it for $125.
Cool gun if you like the vintage stuff... like a poor man's KP3. However, I personally much prefer tha Phantom because it's got all the features and none of the downsides.
If you'd like this gun, I'll probably sell it for $125 + shipping.

        ----------------------------

        Maverick Deluxe
My first gun ever. Loud as hell with the stock barrel, but fairly accurate, pretty cheap, and pretty reliable. Easy to pump, and has an autotrigger. Is direct feed and constant air. Adjustable velocity in the Deluxe version down the barrel. The main problem I had with this gun was the pump screws that hold it into the body.... they love to fall out. A Hornet has a much better pump system. They're 8/32 size though, so the screws are a dime a dozen to replace. Don't screw the replacements in too far though - you'll mash the velocity adjuster's threads. This one finally bit the dust when the brass against the cup seal got chipped. I'll probably replace that brass valve and it will live again one day.
All in all, a good pump for the price. Not perfect but I highly recommend it for someone looking to get a pump gun.

Great first electro. Easy to use, shot fine with good paint, chops like a mo without pds or a fast hopper. I thought I would like the Uber light/short trigger pull but I don't and now I want a mag. Also the stock reg is crap. The fatty cleared up that problem well. Total gun score 8 out of 10. My satisfaction 6 out of 10.

My favorite of the two guns. This thing is kick awesome at woodsball. It worked great for picking shots off. It was a great first gun. As simple as a rock and you couldn't break it. I even liked the heavy trigger pull. I guess it was my style. Hopefully I will get something more like it out of a mag. Total gun score 9 out of 10. My satisfaction 10 out of 10

I lost most of my marker pics to a virus. I left out setups because thats a personal preference anyway.

            Tippmann 98C
By far the best marker available for the price IMO. It works extremely well with CO2 in most temperatures. Its extremly rugged and requires almost nothing for maintainance. I will always keep one in my armory. Great as a loaner and for kids. FAR surpasses the guns in its price range for trouble free operation.

            B2K
Other than the stock regs this is a superb marker. Its fairly light, performs well, great efficiency. Great price for a marker that operates identically to much higher priced markers. With a few well placed upgrades its as good as anything out there..... except in resale.

            DM3
This was my favorite marker. Its big and heavy, but that certainly doesn't hurt in the accuracy department. It was a bit of a gas hog, but will all day fills it didn't matter either. Was super dependable and never let me down at the field. Even with the stock board it was hella fast. The eyes worked flawlessly 98% of the time. The other 2% was cause the battery was dead.

            Mags and cockers
I have owned quite a few of these. I still do. Being such a part of the history of the sport I recommend any baller own at least one of each. I like Mags for their lack of movement, much as I love cockers for the symphony of timed events that make it work.

            05 Shocker
I got one of these because it was as close as I could get to the size and feel of a mag. I wanted something fast and light, which the Shocker definatly was. With the Nerve board it was a paint gulping monster. Its size and speed were by far the strong points. It required religious cleaning and lubing to operate consistantly. I hated that it still had a reflective eye.[/b]

            Impulse
A strong performer for many years. Quite upgradable. I always felt the bushy to be a better buy for a similar package.

            04 Angel Speed
I have owned 2 of these. The first was bone stock and I really didn't give it much of a chance before I traded it. I liked the fact that it was insane fast and very efficent, so I decided to get another. The Sensi absolutely stinks, but with the proper setup and MROF setting it does quite well. The battery is a drawback in weight but it lasts a long time between charges. Really like the 90* frame

                I guess I'll try...

This was my first Automag, after my original Spyder. This thing was a tank -- always shot when I needed it to.

I sold my Minimag and eventually upgraded to the "electro" world. This was my first electro -- an Evil Omen. The thing was fast as hell, with the PDP Chip and surprisingly shot well for a "entry-level" marker. I would buy another one to this day.

While I had the Omen, I purchased this Micro-Emag w/ a 68/3K Flatline. It shot nice when I had it but unfortunately, I didn't have it long since I purchased this from a teammate....

This was my pride and joy.. I put alot of money into this.. It made it through an entire tournament season as an unmilled 03 -- shot flawlessly, super efficient but it needed something.....

..a DIET! 5 months and way too much money later -- it arrived back from Destructive Customs with a facelift.. This thing was my baby. Tadao, great anno and even better milling.. A pure work of art... BUT, I wasn't satisfied so I opted for another AKA marker as a backup...

I picked this up from Dan Voils, once head-tech at AKA. 1 of 1 Firewash Anno by "Uncle David." This thing was BEAUTIFUL... AKA quality with the fast as hell e-blade.. This thing screamed!!!! BUT, for some reason I didn't like the fit so I eventually sold it for a new backup...

I picked this up cheap, with Tadao.. Eventually had it milled out to accept a No-Pro. Fast, quiet, and just an all around great marker... This eventually supplanted my DC Viking as my primary, as it just felt better in my hands.. I love the DM series markers....

Where do I go from here? Well.. Both the DC and the DM4 have been sold... Give me a few weeks

                      no pics but-

--classic mag- ups- double trigger, gas through grip, system X drop
                      - At this point, i hadnt invested in a N2 tank yet, so, always had freezing up problems, but, the markers felt VERY nice in my hands, i liked it alot at the time

-- shoebox shocker- ups- none really, ran it on CO2 with a revvy, stock all american, stock maxflow, oh, had a derlin bolt of some sorts
                      - This thing was my first decent electro, it was SMOOTH, and shot amazing even on co2, never chopped, ever, extremely quiet, and not near as heavy as it looked, great marker

--2k1 cocker (mech)- ups- oh my, i dont even know, stock 3 way and ram, i believe it had a rock lpr, ergo reg, superfly bolt? Hinge frame
-I liked it, ran it on co2, never gave me any issues, shot smooth and fast, quiet as well

--Vision Impulse- ups- Custom milling/ano, vision board, evil respirator, NDZ bolt, NDZ trigger, NDZ rip valve, vert max flow, progressive barrel, NDZ no rise.
                      - First marker with eyes, also when i got myself a halo and N2 tank, this thing was fast, much faster than anything i had used before, and still fast by the standards i use now, shot 15+ all the time in semi (although, it did have some bounce becuase i had no idea what i was doing)

--DM3- ups- Evolve gold bolt kit, SCM, sidewinder, BP no rise, boomstick, tadao, ect
-FAST, all i can say, FAST, it wasnt as smooth as it was hyped up to be, i mean, it was smooth, but, had some kick, once again, it was bouncing, but, i wasnt too aware of it, because it only bounced at higher ROF, only owned this thing for like 2 weeks, because i just didnt like it, felt funny to me (really, its because i dont like the DYE frames (well, the ultralight is amazing, but, that wasnt out then)) Shot great, but, just wasnt me

--04 viking- ups- pandora, BP no rider, slingblade, thats about it
-I got this thing with no intention of keeping it, just make money in a trade, but, after using it once, i fell in love. I still own this marker today (well, not really, have sold it, just, guy hasnt picked it up yet (hes local, go to school with)). But, i would still own it if i could. If nothing else, it worked, perfectly, EVERY time i ared it up, with little to no matinance. Super consistent, super efficient, fast, no kick, loved it

--alias timmy- ups- mostly stock, dragon trigger, shocktech feedneck and adjustable ram cap
-Shortly after getting this, decided i couldnt put up with the clamshell and that it shot worse than the viking, so, got rid of it quickly. It was super light, but, didnt balance too well, didnt really like

                      --DM4- ups- tadao, thats it
--Liked it, shot nice and fast, but, once again, couldnt stand the DYE frames, i have big hands, but, thos frames feel fat in my hands for whatever reason (i like to be able to wrap my hand around the whole frame) Nice marker, but just not me

--03 shocker- ups, nerve board, ccm feedneck
-nerve board is fast, but, only in ramping, and thats not legal, so, meh, other than that, failure is all i have to say, just didnt like the marker at all, even when it did work.
I did love teh size/weight, but, other than that, nothing really good i can say about it.

--Featherlight viking- ups- tadao, custom trigger, MM, BP no rider, custom milled bolt
-Best marker i have used to date, Light, balances nicley, no kick, efficient, FAST, super consistent, fells downright amazing in my hands, and shoots like a dream. Dosent chop, ever, just amazing

--DM6 (didnt own, but, used for a day, so, figured id toss it in)- ups- none
-Very comfortable, the ultralight frame is great. This marker was very easy for me to just pick up and go, no getting used to, just seemed to mold to what i wanted. Looks amazing. Shooting it, i only played in psp ramp, so, 15bps is 15bps, cant comment on speed, same as everything else there. It wasnt as smooth as i expected, used alot of DM5's, which, most of which, were smooth as butter, the dm6 however, felt like it cycled alot faster, but, wasnt near as smooth. Mabey it just needed broken it, but, it had a little bit of kick (could be because its so light). But, the kick it had was minimal, just more so "feedback" than kick, i didnt mind it at all (however, it had more kick than my featherlight). The dm6 is nothing i would drop the featherlight for, but, it is a great marker, shoots great out of the box.
