"how fast can you shoot/what is the fastest gun?" type

threads eventually turn into a form of paintballer's pseudo-intelectuall masturbation. Not so much in this forum, but the other paintball forum.

Just one of those theories i have. ::brushes dust off high school diploma::

    I shoot over a chrono and it says 12 to 16. :)

Ok.. for fastest gun.. do you mean fastest ever done? or fastest possible?

I think the fastest possible could be a mag actually.. 34bps?

Interesting numbers considering the BPS challenge some time ago. Realistically I expect I can get 2-3 balls out at 10-15BPS, sustain, likely about 6BPS.

I have heard a theory that Spyders (and it would stand to reason other markers based off the same design) have a theoretical capability somewhere in the 40's. Undoubtedly we have all understand a mag can recharge around 32. Then you have those markers cycling (but likely not complete cylces) nearer 50.

As to what gun I could pull the trigger on fastest, which one fit me best, etc. I think it was a well adjusted Shocker that I for awhile. Though my E-mag had an awesome trigger and had to have been close. I have set my Proto trigger back a bit, it seems to suit me better. I guess the Shocker was the pinnacle of me trying for speed in a trigger, and was it. I assume I could adjust most any trigger to do the same... I know the marker was not the theoretically fastest I have owned.

Here is what I have gathered off the net in all my years.

          Shocker:
          A lot limited by noid

          Trix:
A lot limited by noid to around 26

          Blowback:
Around 20 in a stacked tube and 18 in an inline

          Rammer Epneu:
          Upper 20s.

          Whatever the Viking is:
          35-40

          Cocker:
          ~25~

Of all the high end guns I have shot the fastest I can pull is around 15 steady on my bko. I like it's trigger better than trixes and shockers and Ions(the only other high end guns I have shot.

I can shoot at around the speed of light, its hard to tell since my fingers start to chafe at around 234,009 bps and finally ignite at around 350,854. The gun doesnt hold up all that well at those speeds so use extra lube when you plan these speed events.

I think I can honestly pull 16-17 bps with my dm5 or a timmy. The only thing that limits me is the trigger guard because I have banana hands.

I belive I can sustain around 10-15 bps easily. Then since we can use ramping here I can sustain 26bps extremly easily....

As fo the fastest guns... IMHO Z-mans RT hook up is the fastest marker on the planet.
In normal easy to do terms...a Viking is the fastest... :)

What gun and who the hell allows uncapped ramping? Sounds more like full auto with a chip.

i'm gonna be as realistic as possible. i can probably shoot and sustain about 8 or 9 bps. and in spurts, i can probably get up to 11 or 12 with my mag. but none of those numbers are really that crippling when you remember that it takes place within 1 second. before the ramping became really big, i remember people would go around all day bragging how they got 20bps or 25 bps on their bushy or impy er whatever, and when you hear them they're realistically getting only like 12 or 13bps (most of the time). sigh....nowadays, with ramping, they really DO get 20bps or so. i have better things to waste my money on (sorry for the rant, its early in the morning...)

from my unscientific experience, i think the fastest marker types are the vikings and maybe the mags. but i don't know the exact specs of trixes or shockers or angels and their noids so i really don't know for sure.

On my current mag i get around 9-10bps relistically in a game but in my homw recording the sound im getting a best of 14bps.

On semi I can sustain about 10-12bps. It's harder than people think. With ramping, yeah, there is uncapped modes. I think the Musashi M5 has it. I think what is really important though, is not the max bps you can get out of a gun, that's easy nowadays, but the max cps you can get. The fastest FULLY recharging gun on the market is probably the mag at around 35cps. Most e-noid rammer guns are limited by the noid to around 22-26bps. That's perfectly fine to me though. I don't really think one needs to shoot more than 13-15bps.

                          Ebladed cocker somewhere between 9-13ish

RT pro Mag/Y grip probably 7-11ish

VSC phantom 18-20 bpm however 2-3ish bps no chops 3-5ish bps with chop. I have to aim at the ground to get 3-5ish because it is stock class. (This tactic proves very ineffective as well as not very intimidating)

Proto Matrix (not mine) probably 9-13ish Maybe 14 if i sneezed at the appropriate time.

                          Normal cocker 6-10ish

I don't think I shoot very slow with any of these markers and many times I can shoot faster than the fun loving braggers, however I am comfortable enough with how I play that I don't mind telling people how fast I can actually shoot. Not the magical numbers that fairy's place in their brains.
To anyone who has actually taken the time and effort to get your fingers to the point that you can actually shoot the numbers that you are extolling then this comment is not aimed at you.

For the most part I get the same number of people out with whatever marker I play with be it electronic or mech or pump.

So in the end the Phantom is the most economical.

The only way to see how fast anyone can practically shoot is on the field so forget all the nonsense butt talk.

Blowbacks are typically the fastest cycling guns , somewhere in the mid to upper 40's.

Pretty much eveything else is limited primarily by thier soleniods , if the 'niods were unlimited mid 40's would pretty much be the max on all mid to high end electros.

Mags are limited by the bolt return spring and will top out in the mid 30's max.

Recharge rate is a whole different story and one that is extremely difficult to prove at ROFs beyond 30 so I wouldn't waste time on that arguement either since there's no real data the covers all marker types.
