How come no company has made... Commercial Scenario Mask ??

So I kinda dropped outta paintball after Team BlackCell fell apart. Took a break for a while, then picked up Sheridan KP2 Wood Stocked Rifle, and got into Scenario Ball. I continue to head back into the woods for awesome and more enjoyable scenario games over tourny (imo).

In any case, with a lot of major companies trying to bring Scenario Ball back into the limelight with such type markers... how come no company has tried going for more Scenario Realistic Masks?

I mean... masks look cool in general, but I mean Fully Customizable...... as in maybe more futuristic, or Moch antenna / radar setups of some sort. I know WDP (angel) spread rumors yrs ago about a Linked interface and Headsup display on the mask lense (from gun to mask - track shot count etc)... but that never came about did it. There are Mask-flage out there, and lens skinz to make it look different. But I mean somthing really interesting. How about a folding Monocle (single lens) nocular thing. Or heat sensitive array lense.

I dunno... guess I've been playing too much Ghost Recon and looking forward to that "Advanced Warfighter" game for X-box.

    Input?

I think most companies are just beginnning to notice the scenario venue as a place to make money. In time I'm sure someone will release a mask for scenario players.

The Camo JT Flex-8 and Camo Extreme Rage Echo 20/20 are a start. But I don't know how much further you would want to go with that. I mean, would you really want a headsup display and other electronic crap? Personally, I don't want any more electronics than my agitated hopper... (I went down the electro road and it was a dark and scary path...)

        haha camilion...

it might be cool to have hud and gadgets on a mask, but i dont know if the general scenario audience is hardcore enough to spend a bunch of money on a mask that intricate

I think the killer application for a scenario mask is as simple as having acoutrements for headgear, earpieces/mics and hydration systems.

Maybe even specially made lens that accept NVG goggles and illuminators, so users will have safe and standardtized off the shelf product rather than homebrew goggle system.

Even simpler, a gogle system that trully never fogs up.

not even the army has goggles with HUDs in them.

IMO, all they need to do is make a mask that you can wear together with a helmet. NVGs are mounted on the helmet afterall.

And I don't suppose SP's Goggle Flage counts for much anymore, but there have been options historically. Who knows, you may just be able to fabricate a mask yourself and make mad $$$ thanks to intelectual propperty =)

I think HUD would be rather cool to play with.
I remember a few years back there was a pair of glasses you could hook up to the Playstation.
You could play the game but still be able to see past the game.
Now if you could hook something like that up to a mini cam on your marker and turn it on and off when you like I think that would be handy.

My main ideas for the moment include a mask mounted, flip out/up Nocular (single eye piece insted o binoculars), instead of mounting it on your gun.

Also perhaps a flip out Heads Up display or GPS system.. can locate fellow teammates and such via a map on the lens.

At the very least I'd like to see integrated night vision in a goggle system.

I built a HUD that consisted of a communications display (showed who was talking and whether their comms was turned on), and a gun cam that could either be displayed in the corner or over the entire display on adjustable transparency. I later added a thermal system that could be over laid onto your actual vision.

I got all the parts used, used low quality parts, the price was astronomical, and it requires so much calibration to match your head nobody in the military though it was a viable technology. SO I have a set of five HUD masks sitting around which my buddies and I use for woodsball.

Just stay away from that route... trust me. There's nothing but an empty wallet and disinterested military accountants down that road.

You do realize that the price of these masks would automatically marginalize any possible sales demographic, right? Who would honestly buy a $2000 mask when they could just use a walkie-talkie?

hud is not that difficult really.
For example, your simple red dot sight is a single point hud.
My son has a laser tag goggle with hud in it.(20 bucks at walmart
For something as simple as shot count, or a game timer, it would be no problem. It's integrating it to other equipment that might be a problem.

They could probably make a board for guns like the Smart Parts SP-8 (is that what it is called?) with a port similar to a headphone jack for a link cable between the mask and the gun. They could also have an analog shot counter similar to a clock's numbers inside the mask at the bottom of the view. What I want to see is a gun that chrono's itself, so if for some reason your shots begin to drop in velocity the gun recognizes that and adjusts the regulator or the bolt speed.
