    dm5 to deviled mag

I currently shoot a ul framed dm5 . having owned many markers over the past years ( dm3's 4's 5, e bladed cocker , shocker , mac dev cyborg, ion , 2k5 timmy ,alias timmy, you get the idea ) i recently aquired a mechanical mag ( and i love it )

so now im thinking of tradeing it for a hyper framed mag with eyes and a predator board

my question is will i be sory i traded for this or will i love it like i love my mechanical mag

somone give me some in put id hate to trade for this then it take me 4 months to get rid of it cause i hate it

I currently shoot a DM6 as my primary as well as still owning a DM5 and number of Xmags/Emags so.....

As much as I love my Mags , I think the DM's are as close to perfection is it get's and wouldn't shoot anything else given the choice.

      IMO.

If you have a DM, why would you want to waste your money trying to get a mag like what you already have?

If you want to just buy another marker for the giggles of it, do it. But you have owned some of the best markers made-the mag will not be anything better than what you have or have had for that matter.

The DM is one of the best high end marker out there right now.

I would suggest you buy a pump and really learn the game. Join the pump-retro revolution!!!!

Yes, you will most likely be sorry. As nice as mags are, you'd be trading an amazing gun for a decent gun. I would keep the mechanical mag and just upgrade over time. Why get rid of a tried-and-true gun for older technology? Matrices are lighter, faster, quieter, use air better and simply a nicer gun.

Mags are nice, but you'll have to maintain constant alertness on your tank psi, as many mags don't perform under 800psi.

Secondly, the upgrade path for the Matrix will continue to expand, while automag upgrades are very limited.
My AIM Intimidator is better than your Automag. Get over it.

^^^^^^ A matrix based gun is not lighter than a hyperframed mag. A hyperframed mag with a Predator board will probably be faster or just as fast as a Matrix. Also you can get about 1,100 shots from a 68/4500 thats pretty close to a matrix style gun.

Note: my Hyperframe w/Predator is faster than my friends DM4 (and he admits it).

Your IMO is wrong! Excals are probablly as close to paint slinging perfection,

Not to offend, but I just dont get the devil mag thing. 400-450 for an electro version of a mag when you could save about 100 bucks and go with a set of emag lowers. I made a vow not to long ago not to buy any gun over 450 bucks. In reality there is much differnce bewteen a dc viking and a b2k, except 1000 bucks.

I've owned both a SITH'd DM5 and a DevilMag (w/ predator, duh) and must say that although the mag was a small and nice shooting gun, I'd never pick one over a DM5 w/ a nice chip or such.

I've owned tons of guns and although the mag was nice, I've had Imps that shot better...

Please feel free to contact me on aim (A5OD 99GenX) as I have owned ~80 markers and can do any type of comparisons for you that you'd like.

The weight might be a point of contention, but the speed and efficiency are not. Mags simply begin to quit performing below 600-800 psi in the tank. That's not an insult - it's a truth. They may be very nice markers, but why trade an electro-pneumatic marker for a spring modified return sear tripper.. (yes, I know the mag doesn't operate off of a sear - it operates using an on/off pin; however, the hyperframe is a modified sear tripper)

I love mags as much as the next guy, but the proposed trade is a step down in many ways.

^^^^^ So what if you loose function at 6 or 800 psi. (I have gotten to like 450 psi). If you get 1100 shots off of the tank. I mean big deal if another gun can get down to 300 but still only get 1200 shots. Whats the difference. You still get the same number of shots.

Whats wrong with the pancake noid. Is it in someway inferior to the 3 way noid in a Matrix. I sure as hell dont think so. It seems like my friend is always having to fix a leak in his 3 way noid or replace it. My pancake noid never leaks and is fast as .........

Oh and you wish a Matrix was faster than a Deviled Mag. There not.
I suggest that you shoot one at its max settings before you spout out comparisons.

Also is any matrix faster than an 05 Speed. NO. I also own an 05 Speed and my Predatored Hypermag is faster.

Same speed, efficiency goes to the DM.

Ultimately, you have to decide which 'feels' better in your hands. Thats the only important factor IMO.

But, for arguing over teh internets sake; the DM is probably a 'superior' marker.

Don't listen to anyone who tells you the mag or DM is better. What you think is what matters.

thanks for all the opinions guys great input from everyone although i do like the way my dm shoots but, for some reason it dissapoints me in many factors much like my dm4 did ( frequent o ring replacement like at least one ring every 2 times a play ,yes i keep it lubed yes its quiet but my mag is equally quiet i also very much dislike the stock grip frame but i have a ul and i had a really bad experience with it the first time out to make a long story short it broke first day i had it )

as for the efficency bit i get more shots on my mag then i do my stock bolted dm

i also really like the profile of my mag where as my dm is definatly taller

some more things people can elaborate on with hyperframed mags are:

parts availability ? scarce - plentiful
weight (one of you said it was lighter then a dm , to the rest if you think a mag is heavy you need to go to the gym and hit some weights )

and to the rest give me some more input on your experience with your hyperframed mag like what you liked what you didnt like etc

With the Hyperframe there really arent any parts that you will have trouble replacing. Board, trigger switch and noid. These are common things that you can find anywhere.
